huh, that's an interesting concept for aircooling :O

very nice when working inside a sound recording studio

Everything can look good in concept, hopefully the real thing will be just as good if not better. Then we can see some temps. That gaming pc looks like it'll get hot.

Re: Compulab Airtop is a fanless, compact, yet powerful desktop PC
tbh passive cases like this have been around for over a decade (remember looking in to one when we had some heat issues at an old workplace), using heatpipes, case panels and clever shaping/ducting to "chimney" the airflow through hot components. Streacom do a nice fabnless range for HTPCs, although they've (obviously) got somewhat lower heat capacity.
200W of dissipation in a case that size is pretty good, but it isn't enough (IMNSHO) to call it out-and-out powerful - as demonstrated by the GPUs they're supporting (GTX 950 is distinctly mid-range). Its an interesting compromise of size, performance and low noise, but you'd have to have a fairly niche requirement for it to hit the mark on all three counts....

"revolutionary". Remember Zalman TNN-500A?

So simple and costs that much, its like an Iphone.I preffer Android.

Did they just forgot about the PSU in their concept? What about Power supply unit? Don't forget it.. If you are seriously running a game or graphic related things that PSU alone might be dissipating more then 200W.
Ahah, Dare to touch it while its running.
mudz

The PSU dispensing (wasting) 200W?
For a 80% efficient PSU that would only happen when the parts are drawing 800W. A 80% PSU would then pull 1000W from the wall, deliver 800W and waste 200W as heat.
Obviously this machine will draw nowhere near 800W, more like 200W at absolute maximum.
Anyway, this design uses an external DC supply so the heat of the PSU is not a factor.

Re: Compulab Airtop is a fanless, compact, yet powerful desktop PC
200W sound nice, but I don't see (or listen for the matter) why to spent that much money when you can get a normal desktop with quite fans and do the job. It will also give more space to make something stronger hardware wise.
(as for the studio mentioned above, you don't have the system in the recording room, so what's the point to have a completely silent system that cost a lot and perform lower?)

This is nothing new, I've worked with many cases that have naf cooling.

I've had a NAF case for a while now - Cooler Master NAF-X, although not quite what you would call fanless, with 4x 200mm, 5x 140mm, 1x 120mm and 1x 90mm fans (excluded the 1350w power supply), it isn't exactly silent. :-)
Just thought I would add a little silliness.

interesting, when they are on their second generation and if they are still in business by then (2017) im in for two.

Cool idea. Restricted to being stood upright though.

This is good but i think it won't work in tropical places
