Hmm, although I'm happier that Samsung's decided to bring back SD expansion, the rest leaves me a little cold. Especially the looks - compare the S7 image to that of the iPhone 5se and apart from Samsung's oval button to Apple's round one the styling is very, very similar. I guess the politest I can be is call it "functional".

Think I'll wait and see what the other vendors decide to launch at MWC before deciding whether to hold onto my ole LG G3 for another year...

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...

Renewal time is fast approaching & looks like I may well be getting an S5! my S3 has lasted 4 years, but I was hoping for "more" by this point!

I know it's got a sd slot but we really should be getting more than 64gb internal storage by now :-/

The S5 is still a good phone according to my brother in law who knows a lot more about phones than I do

I bought a refurbished one from Argos Ebay a few weeks ago and was impressed...

Re: Samsung Galaxy S7, and S7 Edge, specs leak with diagrams

    I have a S3 4g model.
It still does everything I NEED it to do, and everything I want it to do, plus a load more.
I can not think of any important features that the S3 does not have (please correct me if I have missed something)
OK the newer models may have a bit faster processor and more ram, et cetera, but I can see no logical reason to upgrade to a phone with a few extra gimmicks that I will not notice and at least one pitfall.
And I agree with the others above, if I broke the S3 tomorrow, I would get a S5.
I was a member of the Samsung consumer forum, and there were several things that kept repeating over and over as complaints for the S6 models and the 2 at the top were the no micro SD and the non-removable battery, but the most often mentioned comment was to stop becoming an apple clone. After many, many forum pages entirely filled with negative comments, they appear to have relented on one issue. But, apart from the "edge" gimmick, they are even looking even more like a apple clone. They seem to forget that people bought Samsung phones because they were not apples.
After reading many posts from affected phone users (haven't done it myself, but I know of quite a few friends that have wrecked their phones after getting them wet) and then seeing the results of surveys (amazed at how many phones are dropped into the toilet), I am wondering why Samsung have yet to bring out waterproofing across their models. When there are supposed to be methods for preventing water damage to the internals, I would have thought that is a far more important feature than any of the other new sales gimmicks.
