Nice package, woefully underpowered, apparently. Seems like MS can't be bothered with Lumia.

    "business phone"

Where's my physical qwerty keyboard, Microsoft? So near, yet so far...

    EDIT:

Being the 650 would suggest this is at the lower end of the Lumia range, and a 1.3GHz quad core is more than ample for business usage. You're not meant to play Fallout Shelter on your business phone, after all

Recommended retail price for the Lumia 650 is $199. This isn't a flagship phone.

Re: Microsoft launches Lumia 650, a smartphone aimed at businesses

It looks nice but realistically the hardware inside is lower performing (ignoring 64bit and os) than a moto g from 2012 as it's running a 212 snapdragon, yeah not even a 4xx cpu.

I do like it but you know I need a reason to actually upgrade over a phone that is like 3 years old.... I'd have rather it cost closer to £200 and had slightly better specs, it's only just better than the 550.

Doesn't really scream "business phone" to me. Does scream "iPhone 4", though...

I'd almost take it as a business phone... if they hadn't crippled the key business advantage/feature of Win10 (Continuum) on this phone. Kinda defeats the point?

Re: Microsoft launches Lumia 650, a smartphone aimed at businesses

Business phone, so no home apps, and nothing to stress the hardware, which means that they can make it cheaper and potentially increase battery life by reducing the hardware spec. Clever, though I'm not sure how it will take off, besides MS being seen as more secure than Android (and less than apple)

think that's more down to hardware support than anything, sure I read something about it only now being available on the 6xx series. Having said that I kind of agree that it would have been a good idea to feature this on a 'business' phone.

I'm not sure they've actually done anything first...

Snapdragon 212 is claimed to be better than 400 series and more efficient. Also contains more complex instructions like the 8xx series.

For me the lack of AC wireless, wireless charging and 1080p screen are the big let downs. I reckon in 2016 most phones at £200 will cover those bases.

A business phone with an OLED? I do not think so.
I was looking into WP but newer devices can not be integrated thanks to missing (cancelled) APIs and the new trend to OLED makes it a great deal breaker rather a great phone.
