So, at the low low cost of $49.99 I can do something from a Microsoft phone or tablet that both my Blackberry Playbook and Blackberry Q5 support natively out of the box?

    Wow, impressive stuff MS

Re: Microsoft launches next gen Miracast Wireless Display Adapter

Microsoft talks up the new dongle on its device blog claiming that "It brings the best features and functionality of the first generation while reducing the latency and packing it into a new form factor".
That sounds very similar to the PR blurb that Google came out with when the new/current Chromecast dongle was launched. (Which I bought and it's turned out to be a good way to keep my 'smart tv' up with the times)

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...

this plugs into the tv end. This is the device that the playbook etc connects to, think like chromecast/airplay but using the miracast streaming standard (android also supports this.

You can also use any miracast device.... It's a standard.
