Re: Forza Motorsport drifts onto Windows 10

So basically Forza is going to be a pay 2 win cut down version of the Xbox version and only available from a store that cripples the game by forcing things like no SLI/Crossfire, Vsync always on, and a long list of other things you can't do, think I'll pass.

Shame, headline got me excited but the facts disappoint. A Proper Forza game on PC would be wonderful.

Wow, what an anticlimax. I nearly made a mess of my pants when I saw the title.

Free to play. Then when it fails, they'll blame PC as it isn't a viable platform...

So no different from the xbox version other than free.

Forza 5 and 6 were free to play games you paid for and were riddled with DLC.

For me it would point to the Windows store and/or Windows 10 not being a viable platform, SteamOS and Vulkan are suddenly looking much less of a folly than they used to what with Microsoft building these new wall of theirs.

Re: Forza Motorsport drifts onto Windows 10

despite what everyone else is saying (probably understandably saying, but I wouldn't know, only ever touched a console back in 2010 at that last LAN, funnily enough, I think it was forza?) I for one will be trying it out, just to see if it'll work, and if so, then ill be quietly mocking people who spend thousands on upgrades each year, when a 7 year old AMD with onboard graphics will run it like it runs crisis

btw I already mock people who run witcher 3 on dual 980tis and say it runs slow.

Re: Forza Motorsport drifts onto Windows 10

Its a start, testing the water if you will, I think there will be a full Horizon 3 / Forza 7 on PC with cross play (Hopefully Cross buy as well)

Its free dont knock it, Microsoft are going in the right direction.

Just because it's free doesn't excuse no SLI/Crossfire, store download being buggy, Vsync being always on, borderless fullscreen, game files being protected, not being able to launch it via the .exe (there isn't one), no fps/hardware monitor software works with UWP, not being able to use AMD/Nvidia control panel settings or anything that depends on detecting an .exe, needing to take control of the folder as admin if you want access to the files, mouse software which lets you create custom binds for each game not working, and no Steam Controller since you can't use Big Picture Mode or any other software that uses an overlay.

Microsoft wants to merge the PC with the Xbox and (IMO) this is only going to cause problems, problems that despite Phil Spencer saying they're going to fix them will probably never be fixed going on Microsoft past history with gaming on the PC.
