Rinse, repeat, recycle, but with a different theme. I won't be buying another battlefield game until they bring back offline bots and drop the ridiculously overly expensive DLC add-ons. I bought BF3 and all the DLC and only ever played it twice and then went back to playing BF2 with bots.

this. Granted online with real peiople is better, but not everyone has good internet. Plus LAN games with added bots to boost numbers and without online login

Well if this rumour is true this will require a lot of convincing to be a purchase for me. I believe that WW1 could be furtile ground for AAA games, but I also believe its too restrictive a setting technologically to make a truly worthwhile battlefield game.

This can be said of almost every game and genre, we all have preferences for the types of games we like, and will buy the next one to come out if it looks like something we will enjoy, regardless of whether it is a rehash with a few extra knobs on.
I too have BF3 and all the dlc and love the game to bits, I personally missed the boat on BF2, and when I went back to try it, I just didn't like it, just felt too basic for me on some level... personal preference I guess.
I've since been playing BF4 a lot more recently, initially I wasn't overly impressed, but it has grown on me. At the end of the day I just love first person shooters...

But to pick up on the main thrust of your comment, I too like games that have decent support for Bots and offline/LAN play.

Also for me, a decent single player campaign that lasts a bit longer than the average packet of crisps.
