I need an APU with HDMI2.0 for my HTPC, get on it AMD.

That will be Bristol Ridge which should be released in a few months on socket AM4 and uses DDR4.
Re: AMD launches its fastest APU, the A10-7890K
Slightly tangential, but are there any decent AIO PCs that use the higher end A10 chips?
Re: AMD launches its fastest APU, the A10-7890K
A10 with Fury graphics may garner some interest rather than this damp squib.
Re: AMD launches its fastest APU, the A10-7890K
the Athlon X4 chart has the core and boost clocks the wrong way around

Is that part of the 'Zen' family?

They are Excavator based but will use the latest GCN1.2 based IGP with H265 decoding and colour compression.

Once AMD launch Zen will Intel call their next generation Orac as its bound to be superior. ;-)
Re: AMD launches its fastest APU, the A10-7890K
Well that's annoying.. gonna have to stick my BeQuiet! Topflow on my A10-7870k an OC. Only bought it a few months back.

Superior in what way?
Re: AMD launches its fastest APU, the A10-7890K
look at the CPU turbo clocks: 4.3 costs $165 and 4.0 costs $118.....its a smart idea to save money.

Do you know if this will handle HDR as well?? That is going to be the major selling point for TV's this year and it would be nice to build a nice future-proof streamer.

No, but the motherboard is expected to be the same as Zen will use.

Fury graphics? You do know that the Fury series is GCN based, only slightly updated, right? It's more powerful due to more GPU cores and HBM, and more efficient due to better PowerTune and generational production and architecture improvements, but all in all it's still GCN. If what you're asking for is more GPU cores, I'm all for it - and I bet we'll see that with the first generation of Zen APUs, if not Bristol Ridge, given that Intel has been beating AMD with their Iris line. Also, if AMDs demonstration of Polaris matching a GTX 950 at 85W system power is accurate, that'd be an amazing performance goal for an APU - and totally achievable in terms of TDP and cooling. APUs will in all likelyhood become quite awesome in the next couple of years, but before Polaris and 14nm, nothing much will change. And APUs with HBM will no doubt arrive in time, but for now they'd be far too expensive for what you're getting.
