Re: AMD releases Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.3
Latest non-beta is still 15.12 :( They describe 16.3 as a hotfix.
Re: AMD releases Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.3
I wonder if like every other Radeon software update so far it will also disable the third monitor on my Sapphire R9 280 until I plug in an active display port adaptor? I am starting to get fed up with crawling under my desk :(
Re: AMD releases Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.3
Still no Linux driver.
Edit to add: As long as it doesn't make things catch fire :D http://www.fudzilla.com/news/graphic...-cook-your-rig

In both cases no evidence has been provided and its completely implausible anyway since modern hardware throttles automatically if temperatures get too high.

Yeah, but I thought the sensationalist journalism was funny. That release does look like a bit of a dog though, if my one remaining Fermi card could run it I think I would be skipping it.
Still, this is supposed to be about AMD's driver in this thread. Go Vulkan! Will install 16.3 on my main Win 7 rig when I get home.
Re: AMD releases Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.3
I would have loved to see some mention about The Division performance improvements.... sigh!

Does it need them? I thought Radeon cards already performed well.
Re: AMD releases Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.3
A little more performance would be nice, so it doesn't dip into the 30-40 range on 1080p, when not in an enclosed space.
I look at the games that have performance improvements, Tome Raider and Gears of War, and wonder if there is anyone on the planet who has held off playing those games until this performance improvement.
Looking over the 'fence' at those Nvidia owners with their optimised drivers for games x/y/z, and i am green with envy.

Is Tome Raider a sequel to Bookworm Deluxe!? :)
If it's as good as Alphabetty Saga then I'm in... :p

the article is perfectly fine - those drivers have been pulled for various reasons , on GTX9xx they can cause black screen of death. as for fan turning off - drivers 331.82 did that to gtx 480 and 580

Well Gears of War looks like it was completely broken on some cards, eg an AMD 370 being faster than the 380, visual artifacts, stuttering. I imagine there will be people waiting for fixes for that.
