Anyone got any comments from building one of these systems?
I've been looking for the right machine that can plug into an external GPU with thunderbolt 3 for ages - this ticks everything for me.
Only block now is that I'm fixated on putting in 2 Samsung Pro 950 SSDs and configuring them as Raid 0 using the NVME interface - stupidly expensive, but just seen that Samsung are releasing the 960 Pro, so price may drop.
I'm happy to initially accept the average integrated GPU performance and take a risk that there will soon be enough eGPU choices to make that upgrade later on not too expensive. BTW my current I7 laptop with integrated HD4400 graphicsplays some older games very satisfactorily, but ultimately I want to get back to playing Total War games at max, so eGPU will happen.
