Seems the UK prices will start from £24,000.

Don't know why, but I'd expect it to be more expensive. It looks great and if there were enough stations to recharge in my country, I'd definitely think about getting one.
I'm extremely tempted to buy one, shame I'm a student eh.
Tesla cars are fantastically built and I can't imagine this being any different, despite the smaller price tag.
Only problem I see is that it could be 5 years before you can buy one without pre-ordering, as they will be playing catch up.
You can recycle NiMh, NiCad and Lithium batteries but a litre of Super Petrol or diesel cannot be recycled, once it goes out of the cylinder it forms smog, the process of recycling the fumes back to a litre of diesel is complex and expensive. The other bad issues pointed at batteries is so unfair to say that they are extremely toxic after expiry aren't diesel and petrol engines toxic after service life? lets not forget the million litres of engine oil that gets dumped on rivers and lakes including rusty oily components from those engines that are rarely recycled.
That makes it about $70000 in Australia, no thanks
With only a little over 200 miles in range, it is no good for here. Needs to be at least 3 times that to make it viable. There is just to much distance to cover to get anywhere with not a lot in between.
It would only be any good as a city only car, but even just doing a straight conversion from US$35000 and add on 10% for our GST (ends up about A$50,000) and forget any other expenses, it is far to expensive.
But I do like the look of it in the photos.
Just looked up the prices in the US and here for the same model with no extras
In the US the S Model S P85D sells for US71,200
In Australia the same model sells for A$155,400 before on road costs.
So that makes the Tesla model 3 at least A$70,000, but more likely to be $75,000 to $80,000.
If you add on all the extras, you could be getting up around A$100,000
That is ludicrous pricing and useless transport for something which can only go about 200 miles and really only any good for just city driving.

I've yet to learn to drive but the idea of any electric car has always tempted me since if you get the power from the right source they can be very eco friendly and the Tesla's seem to have a very nice range that look normal![]()
