Carrera can do nothing now as they are in administration. Your only course of action would be to contact the liquidator and lodge a claim with them. I think the liquidator is a Company called wilson field :- 0114 235 6780

    Hope that helps

    Pursuing outstanding shipments.

Carerra are refusing to honor customer purchases before Digital Network PLC went in to administration. This has been confirmed by Carerra them-selves and logged. This means Digital Network PLC will be in debt with anyone who has outstanding order shipments. If you are not aware of the best way of pursuing the debt that is owed to you arrange a meeting with your bank and they will be happy to give advice or commence swift action if the payment was issued via a credit card with them. The information provided by the companies involved is based on misdirection. Don’t let them get away with it.

Let's take these fools down. They don't have a leg to stand on regarding my case and most others.

The management regarding these companies is a joke, talk about adding fuel to the fire DN; you must pay peanuts because you seem to have a bunch of monkeys running this operation (that goes for the people building there machines to, "chimps man"). This could have been managed so much better only resulting in an advantage to all companies involved, especially the company buying in.

Watford are buying in to a bad rep' that will probably never return.

It's just going to take a little patience on our part; you will get what’s owed to you.

I think if you don't want to build yourself, SCAN are the realistic visionaries in this area of the market. Real machines built well at realistic prices (you very rarely will get something for nothing these days).

Watford, come out from under your big corporate stone and contact your new customers, and set the standards expected from a company who means to succeed in areas where others have failed.

appears they have now, or at least im ok, they are honouring my order including complete spec, waranty and other things, just lost a week or so in delivery. Shame as i wasnt paying delivery since i live in Bromsgrove too like skuzgib , had to pay that.

Happy in the end though, could have lost out big style, as i dindt order on card, but watford appear to have pulled out the stops and delivering exacly what i ordered, just 1 week late. But i guess i ought to wait till it turns up and works

luckily i didnt buy anything from them (order247) > their phone support is appalling btw! lol

but what happens to people like me, a student with a solo / electron card, we pay for something ~ £200 + and we are not protected, something isn't right here!
despite me not wanting a credit card i may be forced to have one! just so i can have the cover!

Watford Electronics - Aries PC - Carrera SSC - Avoid at all costs!!!

I bought my Carrera Computer because of its hi level spec and because it came with a five year warranty - three years on site and 2 years RTB. One week after it arrived (with damage to the tower case) the hard drive failed completely. I had to spend literally hours on the phone trying to get through to the warranty department. After twenty minutes in a queue they cut you off and you have to start again! Agh!!!!!!!!

A few moths after that Saga they wrote to me and told me that Carrera had been taken over by Watford Electronics and that my warranty was void. They would however honour it for a total of two years only (on site). I've never understood this - they were part of Watford Electronics before.

Two weeks before my warranty was up my graphics card failed. After two days of attempts to get through the guy on the line persuaded me that he couldn't get someone to visit me on site for 2 weeks - but could have it picked up by courier in two days. I agreed - bad mistake. They have had my PC for a month now and they are still waiting for a part.

My business has been on standstill waiting for this to be sorted. I've just bought a laptop so that I can keep doing business (a DELL!!!).

The staff at Watford Electronics range from 'hard cheese' to embarassed and under pressure. I've learned that when I started this recent repair issue with them the warranty department had only one person there to answer the calls. They were again disconnecting me after 20 minutes. The time to reply to e-mails is five days. Appalling.

I will never buy from Watford Electronics, Aries PC or Carrera SSC again!

that was the case before they were taken over from Watford. I mentioned it on a forum and was threatened with legal action by Carrera's directors...

they were shocking imo. only time I had to try and get a problem fixed I gave up after a month of trying and got a new cpu heatsink myself...

having used both Mesh and Carrera's rma system, although Mesh's was not great (lots of phone calls, been told to do things that I had already done etc) at least Mesh fixed the sodding problem.

Personally I've had great experience with Watford Electronics.

Scan 3XS are of course great, and so are CCL. Mesh are pretty big boys and I've witnessed friends have good warrenty service, if a little slow. Better of all would be to not need it.

Microdirect are fab for parts, they do systems too, but never seen one of them.

Wow, I got an email saying this thread had been dug up.

Since then I have learnt a lot; all purchases are made with a credit card and I've built a pc from scratch a few times Luckily I didn't need the non existent warranty offered by Carrera and I had refused the £50 one offered by Watford. I still adhere to "you get what you pay for" but don't get me wrong, there are still bargains to be had, but as I am continuously reminded, build quality and after sales service is essential and nine times out of ten worth that little extra.

There are many able people with the potential to self build, who don't realize just how easy it is to build a home pc, consisting of items, many of which have great warrenties they might have found themselfs using even if they had purchased the pc pre built.
