"Now it offers the world’s first stereo 24-bit Hi-Res audio recording DAC in a smartphone"
Sure it would be the world's first, because DAC (digital-analog converter) is used to generate analog (audio) signal, not to record it. ADC (analog-digital converter) is the one responsible for sampling, quantization and coding the analog signal, though not for the whole recording process - that requires some input-sound source, like a microphone.

Along with the accidental mistake above, could we have either an editorial about a press release OR just the press release acknowledged as such. This kind of half way house of a press release in the voice of Mark doesn't fit the usual quality of Hexus articles.
EDIT: sorry, that was probably a bit harsh and some attempt was made to revoice the press release in a useful way. For what it's worth, the original press release [1] seems quite well written and more moderate to me, using phrases like 'we believe it is best camera available on the market today' rather than being full of prosaic assertions
EDIT2: onto the phone.. if only it were smaller. But I like everything else about it, especially the audio. So disappointed with my OPX audio.

I agree with the comments wishing they would do well to improve competition but, based on my numerous experiences with HTC, I'd say they may have poisoned their own well.
Their after sales, repair and general customer service levels are so poor that I know many people (and many of my own customers) who just will not touch them again.
IMO unless they can restore some faith in their brand I'm not sure that the fancy cameras and chamfered edges will help.
Woah! MicroSD up to 2TBs!

Quite alright specs but I'd prefer the Samsung S7 if you're going to pay for a top end android phone.
If you can find it
The LG G5 offers the same. The Samsung S7 supports 200GB but I wonder if that's not just the largest available right now. Is there a reason it wouldn't be able support even larger microSD cards?
I am pleased that they are the third manufacter (AFAIK) to offer microSD, but if they are adamant is not having a removable battery, I'd like some water resistance.
It was HTC that made the Nexus 9 and that doesn't have anywhere near the same standard of build as their "One" series.
If the Nexus phones were on par with Samsung then I'd have been more inclined to keep my 6P.
Back on track though, the HTC 10 looks like a nice piece of kit. If battery life matches the S7, I'll be taking it. If not, I'll have to put up with the bloat and stuttering on the S7.

Ain't that the truth, seriously starting to get really narked with my 6P, paint chips really easy, all sorts of bluetooth wonk, some headphones don't work with it (my beloved Xiaomi piston II's) etc, etc. Whereas my Sammy S6 which I used to slate at every opportunity is actually a half decent phone now it's got Marshmallow, and the build quality is second to none. Sad to hear that you're suffering the same issues with the S7 that I initially had with the S6.
As for HTC I'm really hoping that it's as good as the early previews are suggesting, HTC needs a winner and they've produced some amazing handsets in the past. Only the other day I fired up my old HTC One M7 and was amazed at how good it still is. If their camera issues are behind them and this phone gets some decent marketing behind it then maybe, just maybe we could see another HTC winner. Fingers crossed.
I haven't actually purchased the S7, however have used one extensively and noticed lag and stuttering. RAM management while not great is improved, but still not as good as iOS. However, a phone running stock or close to stock android performs significantly better than iOS and it just feels smoother. iOS has trouble maintaining smooth animations when lots of apps are open.
EDIT: Do you still get the mobile radio active bug by any chance? It's been driving me insane! On my OnePlus I'm struggling to get more than 2 and a half hours of SoT.

Looks like a.... 'nother Smartphone.
Gimme one witha physical full-size QWERTY again, maybe some angular bits to grip and all the cool stuff phones used to have.
Heck, make it like a slim, modern version of an HTC Universal and you'd be onto a real winner!!
