QOTW: What are your expectations of the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti?

What I expect and what I want are two pretty different things

Want:
Significant bump over 980Ti in terms of performance, with a drop in power consumption. Price, around that of the 980Ti.

Expect:
Expensive, initial driver issues, incremental performance increase.

Considering the size of Nvidia's budget and the amount of time (Nvidia should know TSMC 20nm/finfet like nobody else) to work on the cards, the new cards should offer a massive jump in performance. I expect the GTX980 replacement to better a Titan X by a large margin.

Expect to run 1440p quite decently, but for the price of about 1000$. i.e. it would be an alternative to 980ti, but with newer architecture. So eventually it'll support some new software.

It'll be outrageously expensive and no doubt massive overkill for the vast majority of users. Me, I'll wait for the 1070 and see what that's like compared to the 970. If it comes in at the price of 970's now and the uptick in performance is decent then I'll have it as I want to upgrade from my old 760. If not then I'll be looking for a bargain priced EVGA SSC 970!

I expect an extra 10fps from the previous gen model.

Example: 1080p with AA, Doom 3
970 = 47fps
1070 = 57fps

That's about it. nVidia really doesn't want to push things too far as that would stop the chance of milking people from their $$$$$

I expect a card that will do 1440p like the 980ti does 1080p AND NOT A SINGLE DROP MORE (as that would step on the toes of everyone upgrading again next year).

I will just keep laughing at everyone who told me last year to wait for Pascal and not get my 980Ti, play on and wait for the first price drop on the new gen in order to decide whether to get a high end Pascal based GPU or another 980Ti for SLI on eBay.

60 FPS+ at 4k with everything maxxed out.

Probably like a 30-40% increase since last gen. Based on how I expect the 1080 to perform compared to the 980 TI.
