Don't like it - the older one was a lovely looking cooler. Looks like it is Transformers inspired.

Re: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 seen in new photograph

I usually hate seeing reference GPUs... They all look the same. This at least has a bit of jazz to it.

That said, it makes no difference to me nowadays as I'll have to watercool whichever card I end up with!

No PCB, no graphics card. Just a shroud. Not even woodscrews this time!

God, it looks awful doesn't it.

Looks fine to me, but it doesn't look like a mass production part. Perhaps the retail units will look similar but produced in a cheaper way.

Re: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 seen in new photograph

Not quite as nice at the old 780/980 cooler but tbh, I really don't care too much what a GPU looks like....It's pretty much the last thing on my list of requirements!

I need to stop reading the "new GPU" threads, both companies are going to be super-cagey on the run-up to release

Agreed, way too 'gamery'. I much prefer the old stock shroud, it looks much more grown up and 'function before design'.

Re: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 seen in new photograph

AMD and Nvidia like using a single fan on their cases that end up throttling the GPU on load. The cooling capabilities of these single fans is unsuitable no wonder the likes of Asus & Gigabyte use massive twin fans.

While that's true, the blower design is most compatible with densely packed multi-GPU configurations.

soon we will no longer need massive plastic-y coolers, the Nano proved it but the price shocked us. Am yet to see a Nano equivalent by The GreenTeam

What would your criteria for an utter fail product be?
