I expect Nvidia would hate someone even trying it.
Might be possible to make a monitor with Freesync over HDMI and Gsync over DisplayPort, just don't tell Nvidia about the HDMI ;)
Re: AMD lists refresh rate ranges of all FreeSync monitors available
This seems quite out of date already. Hexus reviewed the Asus MG248Q monitor as being freesync but it's not there.
Re: AMD lists refresh rate ranges of all FreeSync monitors available
Interested to see how many HDMI monitors are listed already.
Intel need to get in on this, it does help smooth out lower frame rates.
Re: AMD lists refresh rate ranges of all FreeSync monitors available
I wonder if nvidia will ever support it? Gsync just costs too much extra over freesync (which you might as well put into a better gpu and use vsync on a cheaper monitor). Be interesting to see if nvidia try and battle on with gsync...
Re: AMD lists refresh rate ranges of all FreeSync monitors available
I sure Nvidia will support freesync. Logic dictates it. That said Nvidia do seem to enjoy flogging dead horses and championing failed technology for the lulz.

"AMD has updated its FreeSync technology pages to list all of them (as of 15th January, 2016)" ...The ASUS was reviewed 25th April

Yes that's what I'm saying. It's very little use if it's not updated for nearly 4 months (to date).
Re: AMD lists refresh rate ranges of all FreeSync monitors available
The biggest problem I see with AMD FreeSync Monitor is there to god damn Expensive
Re: AMD lists refresh rate ranges of all FreeSync monitors available
FreeSync is expensive coz its still new in the market, in the next few years intel will incorporate it to HD graphics (unfortunately am yet to see intel launch UHD sorry but 1080p capable gaming graphics, am tired of the HD 5000 etc graveyard of pure slowness)

I don't think they're any more expensive than non-freesync high refresh rate monitors are they?

When I last look that not the case 144Hz high refresh rate monitors and a NoN-Freesync 27" are under $300 ware Freesync monitors are $600+ just like G-SYNC monitors

Here you go - 27" freesync under $300:

Though you're right in someways - to get a 144hz + freesync you need to go up to about $450 so roughly a $100ish premium over non-freesync. G-sync on the other hand is a much higher premium.

I think DisplayPort has traditionally been a lot of that price premium, but there are some quite cheap 24" DP monitors now so hopefully that part of the price will go away soon.
