Considering Zen won't be out until at least fall, that's very unlikely (however much I'd love for it to happen).

I have to say I'm pretty disappointed by this move, though. What do they gain from moving to 4K? Especially given the 3:2 display, that'd require the resolution to be 3840x2560 (or 4096x2730 if they're gunning for content creators craving DCI 4k), significantly higher than actual 4k, meaning even more power draw. And battery life is an area where the SB in its current form could stand to gain a bit. After all, the only reason to move to 4K would be the ability to natively show 4K video content, which would necessitate the full width of the base resolution (rather than sticking with "2160p" and going for 3240x2160).

I'd much rather see them move to a quad core CPU, although that would require some low power binning from Intel, possibly a special SKU, not to mention better cooling in the clipboard part. I'd love to see QC Intel chips that either significantly throttled or shut 2 cores off completely when in low power mode or while running on battery, though. That would be a step in the right direction compared to anemic ultrabook CPUs.

Complete and utter conjecture. This article, as well as the others created late last week, probably have zero basis in fact.

Oh well it gets posts and that's good for Hexus

P.s. MS should really fix ALL of the issues with the SP4 and SB first.

Pretty much, and it's the same with the vast majority of tech "news" sites. A sad state of affairs.

Assuming this turns out to be true though, why do companies want to continually increase the resolution of screens this big? Perhaps Microsoft should instead be focusing their efforts on making things not look like utter crap at high resolution in Windows.

Oh and, if it ain't OLED, it's a no go for me.

OLED or LED all is fine, modern LED's have good color performance nearing OLED and cheaper but its no excuse for microsoft not to have it, Samsung has OLED tablets and cheaper in cost. But at the end tablet is just a tablet it cant handle heavy rendering softwares, you cant expect me to render 3DSMAX scenery files on a surface book.

But who wants a 3840x2160 screen on a 13" laptop? I'd much rather have 3200x1800.
