"Apps can be fully uninstalled" - That's the only bit I'm interested in! (Just like 90% of all the apps that come with Windows 10 - I think I just have the Weather and news apps now...)
Remember the days when you didn't need an adblocker for windows, only the itnernet?

On the one hand... windows store apps do need promoting, as long as it's good stuff and not 'who paid the most' and as said it can all be uninstalled (although it's never completely removed as it leaves junk in it's folder usually)
On the other hand... this is a little worrying as this could be the start of 'adverts for windows' where you get adverts all over the place, you already have them in the games that have been free and advert free for years prior to windows 8.
Wasn't particularly enjoying this bastardised Start Menu in 10 anyway. Guess I'll be getting Start10 on my machines.
I rarely go the windows store because IF I NEED a version of VLC or BF4 I use Chrome not IE to download directly from their servers its faster and more updated.
2yr anniversary, watch an advert video before windows boots.
You read it here 1st !
I am yet to hear any news about Windows 10 that i like
Faster boots and shutdowns?
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
I am a happy Start10 user... since day one of the release.
Well thats another sign they're going in the wrong direction for me, but atleast its still removable. When I was testing Win10 in VM I was deleting every single tile anyway to make it just a normal start menu, I don't care for the tiles system.
I did give classicshell a go too, but personally I found that the normal win10 start menu with all tiles disabled was the best fit for me. Though I would really like the proper All Programs button back, All Apps behaves weirdly.
I'd love to see them remove the ribbon menus, but considering they've stuck around in Office, probably going to have to keep using Ribbon Disabler for that when I upgrade.
We are seeing the death of 'apps'.
I realised this yesterday when I was virtually assaulted by a popup on tripadvisor's mobile website telling me to install the app. I don't want the apps, I was just looking at places to eat in Belgrade, I don't want to download, install, open an app when I've all that data already.
I get that the windows universal apps have been a kind of failure and they are desperately trying to do something to stop it. But I think we're definitely in the swan song stage of apps for many users.

This. When an app is just a different view on a webpage (often with features missing) then I'd rather just have a bookmark. And considering I'm on a desktop PC I have a keyboard and mouse, I definitely wouldn't want any compromise on features just for the sake of a touch screen based UX.
