Wondering if this is going to cause issues with Dark Souls 3.

Every Crimson driver after the March release causes Dark Souls 3 to crash on my system (even with clean driver install), keep having to roll back to the March driver to stop crashes.

If AMD don't get their act together with these drivers then I will be forced to go the NVidia route which I am not really wanting to be doing

Is it listed as a known issue in the release notes?

If not, it might be worth contacting them; maybe it only happens with certain hardware configurations for instance so isn't showing up in their validation.

I've had no such issues with Dark Souls 3 at all. Must be either specific to your GPU model or...

Couldn't agree more. I'm still on 16.3.2 since anything after just makes games run like s**t.

I really wish we could go back to a time when we didn't need driver updates for every individual big name game.

Of course that wont happen, if we were lucky Microsoft could perhaps curb the practice bringing a little of that console stability to it's xbox pc initiative.

This new driver after uninstalling the March one and cleaning with the Guru3D Driver Uninstaller doesn't crash Dark Souls 3 and performance appears the same so fingers crossed, about to test it out on Doom

You can happily use your old driver without the newer performance enhancements. There are no forced upgrades!

And consoles get plenty of updates over the course of a year, I bet every one of them has one driver update or another in.
