Finally, a desktop replacement that takes up as much space as my actual desktop! The circle is complete!
Laptop? At that size and with the likely power requirements, it is more like an AiO solution for LAN gaming parties.
I really like the idea to be honest :P Effectively a desktop PC you can carry about with you.
Sounds like some kind of AIO/Laptop bridge.
I think pre-built machines with holistic top down cooling solutions can be pretty effective and space saving.
Next thing you'll be saying mobile phones aren't all that mobile! :p

Probably. In volume terms it's going to be at least twice the size of a 15" laptop, and to remain rigid at that size it's going to need some reasonable bracing. 24" monitors on their own weight 7kg - 8kg, and you need to pack all the same control and power hardware into the laptop along with the panel. Even with ultra-lightweight materials the sheer size of it is going to make it very difficult to keep the weight down: stuff has mass, so the more stuff you have the more mass you have.
Hunting round some reviews, MSI have done an 18.4" that weighs in at around 4.5kg, so I guess they might keep it down to around 7kg - 8kg with careful choices of materials. That's still a lot of weight to cart around through... it's definitely movable, but I'd question whether it's "portable" to any useful degree...!
Wait 24"?
I guess I'm viewing this from the perspective of a desktop PC. In comparison this would be much simpler to pack up and transport. Someone who primarily works from a desk but also wants the flexibility to carry a desktop class system around (i.e. mobile CAD work station / video editing station / LAN set-up) without the mess of multiple cables and pieces of hardware. This could be a good compromise? Maybe. Possibly.
I am watching my 24" monitor while reading this.
it's big for an laptop, it might be portable (you will need some suitcase as for a backpack, it looks too big). Weight will be probably almost the same as your baggage on your economy class flight.
Being niche product, means probably very high price, new generation of nVidia graphics just came out, so I see no reason to buy this monster. If I was on market for this kind of PC(Portable Computer).
Screen should be at least 4K or 5K so that you can edit your 4K video easier.
But at the end, this a concept and they can go crazy all theay want, some of that will probably finish in retail products.
Actually, those comments about airports and steamer trunks etc have me thinking... surely in the case modding community someone has created a PC with screen in a trolley case? :D
You open the lid of the Case and the Monitor lifts up out of it on spring loaded folding arms lol... there must be a way!!!
I shudder to think what it would be priced at if it becomes more than a concept build.
