Isn't this Microsofts plan with the next XBox and Windows 10, to remove the console/PC difference and just have the single Win10 platform?
I am still trying to justify the outlay for a VIVE but still difficult right now ... come on version 2 and mass production, we want cheaper kit.
Indeed, this is pretty much the only thing that makes UWP universal for PC. They've already said some games will remain one just Xbox anyway, believe they said that about halo. So really its not different to the state we were in before, we just might have a few extra console games ticking through. That or we see a whole new level of terrible consoles ports that are effectively run in an xbox one emulator. Time will tell.
This is utter nonsense. Oculus are actively blocking other headsets from their walled garden.

Oculus and Facebook are doing everything they can to be remembered as the next Betamax.
You think steam is our saviour and not in it just for the money and then call me naive... mr kettle this is mr pot... he is black...
Yet again can we look at facts please.
Yes the recent update has broken revive, I agree, was the update designed to break revive? no. Yes there was a DRM update which is more to do with HDCP. Yes this broke a HACK not official support.
I really can't remember which interview I saw this in so can't provide a link right now but Oculus have said they have reached out to steam/htc to get the Vive fully supported on oculus home and they aren't helping.
Another point Oculus do state the Oculus exclusives are Oculus store exclusive and not hardware exclusive... cough... GearVR works with Oculus home... cough...
No lets just add a nice bit of logical thinking to the above.
What do steam gain/lose with Vive supporting Oculus home?
There users can purchase form another store how great less profit...
What do Oculus gain/lose with Vive supporting Oculus home?
More users, more sales, more profit...
So who is really blocking the official support when one company only gains and one only loses?
Thank you overly expensive VR.
Joking, this VR headset has become a complete mockery of all gamers, due to being priced high, it is fair to say that even though they should have more money to prevent such mishaps yet they should be capable of not having a problem in the first place.
Nope just regular, reasonably well informed and logical Percy, nice to meet you.
You've a damned cheek using any of those words in reference to yourself.
