Re: AMD adds RX 470 and RX 460 to Polaris GPU line-up

Guru3D actually looked at some of the leaked scores for the RX460 and RX470 and made a few charts:

    http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/rad...enchmarks.html

Some German prices with 19% VAT included from a system builder:

The GT730 is around £45 from a few retailers so a rough estimate of the price is:
    1.)RX460 ~£100
    2.)RX470 ~ £160
    3.)RX480 4GB ~ £210
    4.)RX480 ~ £240

The RX 470 looks just like what I'm after. My GTX680 is not holding up well at all now.

Re: AMD adds RX 470 and RX 460 to Polaris GPU line-up

At least a few of those slides are from the RX 480 launch deck. The performance comparison in DX12 bears out what most of the reviews found. The second Async one's interesting though, showing compute filling up the utilisation when the GPU isn't 100% ramped on rendering graphics...

Re: AMD adds RX 470 and RX 460 to Polaris GPU line-up

The RX460 seems to have a larger fan than previously demoed though, plus if the RX470 uses the same heatsink as a RX480,I suspect it might boost higher too!!

    Edit!!

IIRC,the RX460 is a 4 ACE design - it will be interesting to compare the R7 260X and the RX460 directly though as both have 896 shaders and a 128 bit memory controller and 2GB of GDDR5. The R7 260X also runs at 1.1GHZ too.

It's a bit odd, because the embargo date for that RX 460 slide is the same as for the one I referenced here: http://forums.hexus.net/hexus-review...ml#post3670834 which has the smaller single-slot cooler on. And there's another slide in that slide deck that says the RX 460 is 16 CUs, despite the headline slide with the picture of the card saying it's 14 CUs.

Someone at AMD needs to get their story straight and clean up all this nonsense...

    Apparently,the RX470 runs at 1.206GHZ:

    XFX AIB RX460 score:

    https://i.redd.it/6rh24udhnldx.jpg

Looks like it is around R9 270/R9 270X level, although the card pictured does have a six pin PCI-E power connector. Having said that so did many GTX750TI models too.

Re: AMD adds RX 470 and RX 460 to Polaris GPU line-up

    Asus tease their AIB RX460:

    http://videocardz.com/62976/asus-str...-rx-460-leaked

Interesting performance claims though - that would not be far off a R9 380 or GTX960 in Doom:

    http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages...review,16.html

    Edit!!

    Some more leaks:

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images...0b42acee1f.jpg
    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images...927fd0c297.jpg

First one is a reference card, but for 3DMark we need to compare AMD to AMD and Nvidia to Nvidia IMHO:
    http://www.trustedreviews.com/amd-ra...chmarks-page-2

That score is bang on the score for the R7 370.

However,it seems the AIB cards have a huge improvement,if you look at the second link.

The score is more like an R9 270X.

It does indicate the reference card might be throttling to keep within TDP limits.

    OTH,going by TPU figures,an R7 370 is quite close to a GTX950 now:

    https://tpucdn.com/reviews/ASUS/RX_4..._1920_1080.png

If the AIB cards get close to an R9 270X,it might mean close to GTX960 level performance for AIB partner cards.
