the amount we pay for phones is generally ridiculous.

Re: OnePlus 3 aims to be 'flagship-killing' smartphone of 2016

I've been watching review videos on youtube, from the likes of Marcus Brownlee, and the usual major android sites, and I really like the look of it. My last upgrade, I moved from my old M7 to an iphone 6. Have to say its served me well, and my tinkering tendencies have gotten less and less, which made the switch easier. However, I was seriously tempted by the S7 edge, and on seeing this, I'm really liking it.

Yes, I'm debating the sheer size of the thing, but the OS appears to be relatively efficient, bloat free, and very snappy, at least judging by the videos that I have seen. The only thing that I'm not sure about is the camera. Need to read a few more reviews and see some more samples before making any judgements.

All in all, its looks a nice handset for the price tbh.

For years I was happy with a phone ½" thick with full QWERTY keyboard and almost a week of battery.

I only got this Galaxy S5 Neo because it was on a cheaper contract than my existing one!
But to me, it's pointless getting anything when it's the absolute latest, because there's no decent accessories for it yet!

I've got a Nokia 6330 Classic you could have cheap. Actually joking aside I'm hearing some pretty good mumblings about the Motorola Z Force - that's a 3,500mAh battery as standard and you can use the Incipio slap on back (see here), sorry "Moto Mod" (grin) to add another 2,200mAh and the option of wireless charging.

The OP3 doesn't cut it for me (the companies done too many stupid things in the past), but I'm hoping that Moto/Lenovo UK don't make a mess of the Z/ZForce pricing - in which case it could well be "Hello Moto" for me. Either that or heading for Google if this year's Nexus is decent...

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...

Re: OnePlus 3 aims to be 'flagship-killing' smartphone of 2016

Have had a OnePlus X for 7+ months. If the camera was better, I'd keep it as long as possible. I get why OnePlus are just focusing on a single flagship killer now, and ditching the lower end X, but I just find anything over a 5" screen too big.

I had the OnePlus One for a while but never really got on with Cyanogen/Oxygen OS. GoPro App doesn't work on it which is bad, as are all the gestures (enabled even when the screen is locked). Switched backed to Nexus.

Spot on. OPX is almost perfect for me, just want a better camera (+audio quality).

More power to their elbow - I hope this forces a rethink from the likes of Apple and Samsung.

One+'s track record is not great on this but as the device is so easy to bootloader unlock & root this almost becomes a none issue (at least for me).

I use the cloud to store back up files but still need the SD card for working files. I loathe using the internal storage for these files. The price sounds good though, but what about reliability?

We'll have to see but mine seems to be holding up nicely, really good quality build, fit & finish. Software reliability maybe more a concern since I've had a few random reboots.
