What? Man..
On the other hand I'm not sure this is real, the English is too bad.
Hate the name , luv the new controls given alot .
Some screens of WattMan on RX 480, http://i.imgur.com/90q8lFw.png .
For example:
VID per DPM I was only able to edit via bios mod on Hawaii/Fiji. Setting VID for a DPM is a more elegant solution than VDDC offset which are available via MSI AB, etc as that applies to all states.
In OD "GPU Target Temperature" was the throttling temp of GPU and reducing it didn't modify the cooling solutions behavior. The cooling solution "GPU Target Temperature" used by "Fuzzy Logic" was not accessible in drivers, so only option was bios mod or setting custom fan profile via MSI AB, which was technically a "Lookup table" fan profile.

That name is awful. Really awful. Sounds like a cheapo, plasticky power meter. Why not Overdrive 2.0? "X.Y" names seem to be a hit with the gaming crowd (GPU Boost 2.0 and the like).
But as gupsterg says, the controls look amazing. Love the initiative and drive AMD is showing recently.
Probably WattMan as in Watt(age?) Manager. Agree it sounds stupid, befits "app" though.
Slightly OT question: AMD pushed an on-die sound processor with positional audio etc. not so long ago. TrueAudio, I believe it was called. What ever came of that?
Shame, really. I love hardware audio acceleration, even if Microsoft doesn't. At least the logic is apparently still in there, although the vote is out on Polaris (found a Wikipedia article after posting).
I wonder if this rename will actually fix all the bugs in the original Overdrive since it is so buggy it is unusable
eg. this happens to me as well on 7990 https://community.amd.com/thread/201100 "Profile overdrive ignored, crosstalk to global overdrive"
In other words if you change a setting in a profile such as changing fan speed from "auto" to 85% and also have it set to "auto" in the Global setting, then when the game for profile starts, the fan does not change speed at all, just stuck on global "auto" setting.
WTF is the point of profile settings if they don't actually work...
Watt the hell
Couldn't care less about the name, just wondering what this will mean for overclocking support on Linux. I currently use amdconfig (aticonfig) which is basic but does the job, I'd hate to have to muck about with Windows again.
I don't care 'Watt' it's called (LOL!!) I just want to see it working, and working well.
