1080p at 70" when your right in its face to use it... yeah no thanks. 4K and I would say its reasonable resolution. That being said I wouldn't expect the price to be $5k
1080p at 70" is not bad considering its touch screen for the price of $5k
by my calculation that works out at just under a pixel per square millimeter, its not bad but if your anywhere near the screen they will be fairly obvious. (feel free to correct my math)
It may well be a sensible resolution to launch the product at if the majority of potential customers don't yet have PCs available with enough graphics grunt to drive higher resolutions. Bear in mind that businesses will tend not to equip ordinary staff PCs with dedicated graphics cards/chips, unless it's really necessary, and even then replacement/upgrade cycles aren't all that quick.
I doubt you will see many of these in school classrooms, unless they are wealthy. Definitely toys for the boys in the big corporations.
CEO: Lets get one of these new screens, it'll be great!
Tech guy: So you don't mind hiring an extra cleaner to wipe it down every 5min and remove fingerprints so you can see the actual presentation?
CEO: Who the eff thought getting one of those was a good idea?
Ha! As long as they stick to bright backgrounds for their presentations, I don't think fingerprints are that distracting- and they do include styli anyway.
