Seems a bit overkill with the gimmicks. The sensor is said to be one of the best, but 150 bucks for a mouse is very expensive.

Analogue and re-mappable buttons I've found to be fairly limited use if you want to use your mouse as a mouse.

Windows does up to Mouse5 as a button, and then you have to start borrowing keys from the keyboard. Which is fine if your game is setup correctly, but when you're back in Windows you jab the extra button on your mouse and it starts writing things.

Analogue is a great idea, but what game supports the notion of variable inputs on keys? You can bind up the keys to a game controller, but then that's not going to work for a large number of inputs.

The hardware is ahead of the software.

Friend of mine has a *cof* IMac which has no buttons at all on it`s mouse.

He used to work in newspaper production graphic design pre `wapping-gate` and is always banging on about the mouse he used then having sixteen buttons on it.

No prizes for guessing what he`s getting for xmas from me this year.

Hopefully one of these will shut him up.

Still will get sniped by an invisible sniper in PS2 when you spawn!

It's one of those things I would have to try before I buy, especially at that price. Does look interesting though.

I must be very old as having 7 button actions is more than need ? I have to remind myself that I have two on the side.

I feel like I'd keep accidentally leaning the mouse and leaning/sliding around in games when I didn't want to. I like the idea of the extra axis but I think the implementation needs some more thought.

I like that it has been tested with 10 million clicks on left and right mouse button.. many other 'Quality' products start dying after 200k-500k clicks.

Looks like they took the G502 and decided it needed more buttons. Too gimmicky for my taste.

A shame the only mouse other than the MX Revolution to have the switchable scroll wheel (changes from click-scroll to smooth-scroll based on speed, application, or any other user-settable parameter) is a vastly disappointing MX Master.

I'll never buy another mouse with extra analogue control ever again as my last one stopped gamepads working properly with half my steam library. My last mouse was a Roccat Tyon, it was about £100 and had the problems. My new mouse, Steel Series Rival 100 cost about £25 and works as a mouse should.. it even has RGB lighting !

Just to clarify, the problems arise because a lot of games discover the analogue input and decide that it is a proper controller and disable any other controllers connected to the PC in game. The only solution was to unplug the mouse before launching any games which can be problematic and time consuming.. So take that as a warning folks before splashing the cash on a similar product.

I have two additional thumb buttons that I rarely use. Not to mention the fact the last time i bought a mouse was probably 7 years ago and before that was my very first optical mouse that lasted 15 years, and is still going. How often do people replace their mice, cos it has to be the one thing apart from the keyboard that gets replaced the least often.

Most of those features, like the tilting, pivoting seem directed at specific games. Definately not for me, but I guess there is a market out there for it.

Compared to the crap some others (mainly razer and Asus ROG) are putting out, this is at least TRYING to add more functionality rather than just "our RGB lighting now has IT'S OWN RGB LIGHTING!!!". It's going to be a marmite device, as it depends how well you can adapt to it's extras (and some may well get in the way of regular mouse use) but I'd probably not scoff at one as a gift, try it, if I can get on with it... If not it gets sold :)

As mentioned, great that people are trying different things.
I'm a big fan of that, rather than the same old 4-button mice with just RGB and insanely high DPI being the supposed draw factors.

Don't think I'd personally use the tilts and 'deep press' aspects, but I'll take extra buttons any day!
My own technically has 14 buttons, but for some annoying reason they always count primary buttons and scroll wheel functions as the first 7 'buttons'...

Most of the 'Mouse Of Many Buttons' softwares allow you to map certain Windows features or context controls to the buttons, such as opening apps, altering volume, keyboard shortcuts, etc.

Not really if you know how to leverage it. I have a 13 button mouse, and I can manipulate things for productivity with the software. The best part is, I program it into the mouse and it retains the same settings no matter what computer I plug it into.

I get that some people only need 7 buttons, but once you get used to having thirteen, it's extremely difficult to go back. I feel crippled with just a 6 button mouse, let alone a plane one.

I'm crippled with 7. My 13 button is perfect and I have the buttons all mapped within the mouse so no matter what I plug it into, it retains the settings.

It increases productivity. You learned to type, didn't you? That's second nature. Using a mouse with multi buttons becomes second nature, too.
