Re: AMD Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 specs confirmed
Ok if this report is true from wccftech.com/http://wccftech.com/gtx-1060-3gb-detailed-specs-leak/. Then there will be two gtx1060 versions.
A 3gb version and a 6gb version but just too muddy the waters the 3gb version has1152 cores vs 1280 cores on the 6gb version. Although the qouted price is $149.00 so would be in the same bracket as the 4gb RX470.

I'm pretty sure this has been confirmed to be untrue, or it used to be true until the RX480 came along and it became pretty obvious that a £210 non-reference 4GB 480 or £240 8GB would go head to head with their proposed £300 product and so they'd need to drop the price into the same region as the 3GB product (which with those specs would not be half the price of the 6GB, that's just common sense). Hence the 3GB '1060' was pointless to produce and release.

I think it will mostly be up to NVIDIA to decide to outcome. The 1060 is a smaller chip than the RX 480, so in theory NVIDIA could price it lower and make the same money as AMD. Given that (according to rumour) it's also faster, it all comes down to whether NVIDIA wants to kill the competition or not. I think it prefers to keep AMD as competition, but in its current place, and the price will reflect that.
The RX 480 is currently selling a lot over SRP, and the 1060 will either suffer the same fate or will force a reduction in the 480's going price.

You can currently buy - from stock - a reference RX 480 for £220 from ebuyer, over clockers and dabs/BT shop. Several other shops have them at £229. Given the weak pound and VAT, that's pretty damn close to MSRP (£216.20 at current mid-market rates). The 4GB version is on preorder with ebuyer at £174 which is actually *below* MSRP (£180). So while it's hard to find an RX 480 in the UK at exactly MSRP, it's not selling at a lot over MSRP, by any stretch of the imagination.
Re: AMD Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 specs confirmed
Can anyone show me where to buy a 1070 / 1080 that's in stock, and cheaper than the reference card pricing? ALL etailers are pricing the custom cards at the FE price or above - doesn't matter what Nv have said!
the 1060 will be the same , with starting prices at enar £300 then going higher

460 and 470 have obvious people they would appeal to for whom they would be an upgrade.
Did for get about people that still have older hardware use lee a few gen older that are running fine and I'm shore min people are looking at new build as well which use lee want the best bang for buck $200/250 mark, Like my case I'm about upgrade my old HD 7870 and pass it on so in few more mouths by dec time I have enough save for new GPU which maybe RX 480 or GTX 1060
The only reason to upgrade the GTX 970/980 is for DirectX 12 other then I see no point update it for 1 to 2 more gen from now unless you just like just wasting money.

GTX 1070, in stock, £389. I believe the official pricing for the FE is £399, so it's not much lower, but it is lower: http://www.ebuyer.com/752256-palit-g...070t15p2-1041g

They never said "the MSRP for all partner cards is ...". They said partner cards would be available "from" that lower price. I'm sure eventually they will - after all, the GTX 970 can be bought for £200 now. ;)
This is all a bit of an nvidia PR fail, really - they should have discussed with partners who was going to bring those lower MSRP cards to market and made sure they were available ASAP after launch. They clearly didn't do that, and in the event no partner was willing to cut their own profit margins and sell for less than the reference card. Quite how nvidia expected to change the standard practices of the entire market unilaterally and in one go I have no idea.
Re: AMD Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 specs confirmed
its shocking to see how many GTX 960/970 and 980 etc are left in channel - the etailers will now be left with stock they cant shift

They're made at different foundries, and AMD have a close relationship with GloFo so it's impossible to say which one is cheaper to make.
Re: AMD Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 specs confirmed
The sooner all these low/mid range are out with partner support the better so we can finally see where they all sit!

True, but I'd still say that most indications are that cards should cost less. The chip is smaller, lower power, smaller memory bus, this should all translate to lower cost. Even if NVIDIA isn't making more on the chip, the OEM's would be making a bit more money on the cards.
Re: AMD Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 specs confirmed
Yeah I get what you're saying and I'd be inclined to reason that myself but we can't know for sure.
It might not be for cost reasons but remember than Apple who dual-sourced the A9 from Samsung and TSMC and at least in early batches they were mostly from Samsung. Add to that AMD has the WSA with GloFo and that further complicates matters since they have (well had, but I think it still applies) the take-or-pay agreement, so they have to buy a certain amount of wafers or have to pay anyway because of the agreed guaranteed capacity and GloFo would have idle production lines otherwise, costing them money. I.e. they have to use those wafers anyway and if they're struggling to fill that with current CPU volumes it's probably financially beneficial to use the capacity for GPUs regardless of profit margins at the moment.

This looks promising:

The RX470 is not too far off an RX480 in Ashes of the Singularity and the RX460 is not far off a GTX960 it seems.
