Well, that just makes him sound mental
"They'll never completely break it, but will continue to break it until, in five years, people are so fed up that Steam is buggy that the Windows Store seems like an ideal alternative. That's exactly what they did to their previous competitors in other areas."
Which ones? I'm not going to argue that MS doesn't want UWP to beat Steam, and of course they've got to be looking with envy at Steam, but that statement needed more information.
Can't say I've noticed any of them, and my main laptop is on the Insider fast ring, so I've probably got the most up-to-date Windows going...Sweeney went on to say that Microsoft's efforts to spoil Steam have already become visible
"They're out there, I know they are I can see them, they're coming to get me."
You know what, though? Even if he's totally wrong, I can't fault him for using his position to keep MS in check. We need people with bigger voices to use them to express concerns, and there's no doubt that MS has made some worrying moves with games like Quantum Break that were obviously aimed at conquering the market.
It might be enough that it blew up in MS's face, but there needs to be pressure to persuade them to coexist and not trying to dominate by throwing money and exclusivity at the problem.

So steam boss complaining about basically their biggest competitor, steam is basically a big storefront, by using potentially slanderous and libellous statements... yeah that really makes me believe him...
Also hasn't MS already come out and said theres nothing to stop steam making a UWP version of their app....
If he's so concerned best he get onto all the game and hardware developers to support linux properly so all linux gaming can perform as well as windows gaming rig.
He likes his tin-foil hats thick.
and I thought that I was paranoid!
Live long and prosper.
I think he forgot to take his medicine. Microsoft might be stupid, but not that stupid.
He better get rid of all those XBOX millions he took in case Microsoft start making his bank account run poorly.
"Over the next five years or so this strategy will make Steam become buggy and unreliable"
Umm... It's better than it's ever been but Steam is still pants. There's no need for MS to do anything like this anyway.
P.s. Remember when Gabe went ballistic at Windows 8? This is just more bull from someone biting a hand that feeds.
