Sony Bravia
A 2009 Panasonic Viera. 42" Full HD Plasma. 7 years later and it is working perfect! Love the colors and the picture quality. No internet and 3D. I have a HTPC connected to it and a 5.1 surround sound system.
Sony KDL-40W905A (2013). Best 40" tv set I could get at the time. Also smallest tv set worth having. I could barely squeeze it in as I don't have a lot of space. That doesn't mean I want a crap tv set, however. It's quite OK as LCD set go. I'd swap it for a 40" OLED in a heart beat, though, if such a thing ever manifests. Probably won't as "all of us" cannot get tv sets big enough...
Panasonic 42" Plasma TV TX-P42G20.
Black looks black(no silly backlight shining through), and colors look really great. For a Sci-Fi nerd like me, i dont think i could have chosen better.
Only downsides are in scenes with white background, with text moving across the screen, the text can flicker a bit. And it being a plasma, burnin happens.
Next time i need a TV, a panasonic plasma would be neat to have again
2008 samsung tv
none
Samsung UE55HU6900, bought 2 years ago because of 4K and affordable price. Good up-scaling from 1080p and 720p, Netflix 4K content looks beautiful, unfortunately on fast action scenes a bit blurry. Planning to upgrade with evolution kit SEK-3500.
2008 50" Plasma Pioneer Kuro LX 5090. Very nice screen.
Settings can be a bit daunting at first so help from AV forums really helped.
Chose this screen as it was probably the best around at the time and its still going strong.
Been looking at 4k TVs last couple of months, OLED TVs are on my shortlist.
I will definitely not be getting a curved screen.
We have a 37" Toshiba Regza, it's about 7 or 8 years old. When it dies we'll upgrade. It's OK, it does it's job. I have a crappy PC monitor that makes better quality pictures though...
Panasonic TX-L42E6B (42") prior to this i had a Panasonic 720p 42" Plasma which i passed onto my brother and its still working fine.
Have to say i was hesitant to go from Plasma to LCD but i actually found it better picture quality and i did want the slim bezel, the Plasma had the 50mm bezel, don't those old large bezels look ugly?
Am going to go up in size soon to around the 46" - 50" and preferably 4K though i do not need all the bells and whistles of many a high end model, picture quality comes first.
55" Samsung H6400 6 Series Flat Full HD Smart 3D LED TV.
Couldn't give a hoot about the 3d but it allows me to stream direct to the TV over wifi or from a usb stick.
Got it in the usual end of the season PC world sale for something like £700 nearly 3 years ago.
All my tv's are Samsung smart tv 1080p except one, which is a 4k
LG 43UF770 4K LED, love the thing. Had an old FullHD 1080p Samsung set a while back which was also great value. Only problem is now doesn't support 10 bit or HDR (similar things) but who cares. Don't need those stupid loud, underpowered consoles under the TV any longer as its Smart WebOS.
Would buy again.
