Chaos-based processors may be solution to Moore's Law hurdles

Non-linear, chaos-based ICs can perform multiple functions with fewer transistors.

Re: Chaos-based processors may be solution to Moore's Law hurdles
The idea of troubleshooting a PC based on chaos, doesn't seem too appealing!

you never had windows before 7? :P

So they digitised a Moose?? :p
Re: Chaos-based processors may be solution to Moore's Law hurdles
Just wondering if this means the circuit could reconfigure it's self.. eg the grounds for a true neural net in hardware

Sounds like business as normal with how some people use their PCs. :P

The first PC built around one of these chips will, within minutes of being turned on, become shelf aware, question its relationship with humanity and promptly open a portal to the Abyss and raving hordes of demons will over-run Shepton Mallet, (closely followed by the rest of the world)

I wish my PC was shelf aware, I'm useless at putting up shelves. :D ;)

Mines aware if it annoys me one more time it will go on the shelf and stay there for evermore.

lol.... typo, needless to say I missed that... hehehe
Actually, Shelf aware fits better with the tone of my daft comment.... erm, i'll now pretend it was deliberate!
Re: Chaos-based processors may be solution to Moore's Law hurdles
I read this article and came to the conclusion that I should give up computers and do something else - it just reads like one of those "machine poems". I mean, "Utilising chaos theory, via nonlinear transistor circuits, allows dynamics-level behaviours to initiate different processing tasks using the same circuit." just washed over me like a Donald Trump press conference, (but without the annoyance factor).
Sigh - it must be old age finally caught up on me.
Re: Chaos-based processors may be solution to Moore's Law hurdles
I must admit, it meant next to nothing to me... except the bit where (to paraphrase) they say current designs waste processing opportunities and these chips will be more efficient and powerful... that kind of plain english statement i can cope with :)

I can picture the sticker thats supplied with the CPU
"Chaos Inside"

And when advertised on TV, instead of the Intel jingle would be a frustrated scream? :P
