Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
I have a lumia 735 at 1280x720 and a acer aspire netbook (yes one of those things) which I upgraded the screen to 1366x768 which made it a whole lot more usable.
Past that I have 2 UHD monitors and a UHD TV.

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
Density-wise it would probably be my Kobo Aura HD at 265dpi (1080x1440@6.8"). In terms of pixel count probably my 2.3MP (1920x1200@24") monitor.

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
Smartphone GS7 (whatever that may be)

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
A toss-up between my Moto X Force (2160*1440) and my Dell monitor (don't know the exact resolution but it's a 24", think it's 2160x1440 as well...).
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
It's my tablet - just. The Click Mini is 1920x1200, just outpacing the 1080p monitors that the two gamers in the house use. Most of the other screens - including all our laptops and our "HD" television - are 1366x768.
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
LG G4 > Surface 3 > Acer FHD IPS desktop monitor
Wrong way around for utility value I think...
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
I recently purchased a Philips 4K UHD 3840 x 2160 32" IPS monitor. Amazingly, what I have learned through this is that even in Windows 10, Windows scaling is terrible in most applications. Hard to believe that in 2016, Windows is still horrible at high resolutions.
My last monitor was an HP 30" 2560 x 1600, which is the sweet-spot for Windows, as you don't need to scale at that size/resolution.
So, yeah, my highest resolution display is on a Windows 10 PC, but as of right now, it's somewhat wasted in Windows.

I have 2 24" UHD monitors and scaling works perfectly (currently 125%), that on windows 10 too.

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
*switch* *click* *clunk* *BZZZZzzzz!*
Funnily enough, the highest resolution display I have is this huge, beige iiyama CRT that still straddles my desk next to my primary display (a Dell LCD).
iiyama 18" CRT - 2048 x 1536
Dell 24" LCD - 1920 x 1080
Smartphone - 1920 x 1080
Ancient laptop - 1440 x 900 (still better than most laptops on sale today)

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
For me personally, it's my 2560*1440 Dell U2711 - followed by my 1920*1200 Nexus 7, FHD Xperia Z2 and 1280*800 ThinkPad X201. In my household, it would be my GF's 3200*1800 Yoga 2 Pro, and her Galaxy S7 tied with her Dell U2713HM.
I doubt we'll go past that until we replace our TV sometime in the distant future or if she needs a 4k monitor for video editing. 2560*1440 @27" is perfect for me, although I'd like a 34" 21:9 3440*1440 monitor at some point. Same height, same DPI, just wider (and thus more immersive).

If it's a Shield portable, it's 720p. If it's a Shield tablet, it's 1920*1200.

Given that it's a PenTile S-AMOLED display, I'd say 2560*1440 is "necessary". It's actual (sub)pixel density is around that of a similarly sized FHD LCD.

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
For me my best is my LG G3 with its 1440x2560 resolution, pc is using dual 1080p monitors which im happy with at present.

-

27" Dell U2711

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
1680x1050 ageing Samsung monitor. Does the job for what I want it for.
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
Main gaming rig is a multi-screen setup, so that's 7800x1440. If this is a single screen, the my Surface has the highest. I definitely appreciate it better on my desktop as the surface screen is the sort of size whereby you cannot see the difference (I can;t anyway).

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
I genuinely don't know, but probably my PC monitor. It certainly won't be my phone as I don't have a smartphone, and the TV is a standard HD set which we don't even bother with HD on very much. The only way I see us ever buying a 4K TV is if that's entry-level when our current set packs up forcing us to buy another one. Meantime, our HD set is perfectly adequate.
I have a couple of tablets, but neither are high end so while I have no idea what the resolution is, beyond that it's "enough", I doubt it's anything close to state of the art.
As for the PC, I'm not an avid gamer these days, in large part due to Steam, and certainly am not interested in buying either a monitor or GPU capable of driving it properly just to get higher resolution.
This is why I don't know what device resolutions are - I'm not interested. They're enough for my needs, and that's all that matters.

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
Desktop, Have both a Samsung 4k 60hz TN panel and a nice Asus 1440p 165hz IPS ROG Swift panel for games.
Next would be iPad 4, Then Sony Bravia 1080p tv and then finally Samsung Galaxy Note II.
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
Oddly, both my 30" Dell screens and my Galaxy Tab....both 2560x1600
Will maybe get 4K when I see a TV that blows me away....
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
everything i own is 1920 x 1080
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
13 inch QHD Ultrabook and 27 inch QHD desktop monitor. Phone is Full HD I think which is plenty really. TV is Full HD too - I'd sort of like a 4K but not really sure it's worth the cash unless you're buying an absolutely massive screen. Might need a bigger TV after I move (suspect 32 inches will be a bit lost in the new living room) but still can't justify anything big enough for 4K really, so might be better off putting money into a good Full HD rather than a mediocre 4k. Don't even watch that much at Full HD (albeit the blu ray player is, I think, 4K capable).
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
My Moto X Pure edition 2015 (1440p) followed by my desktop Monitor (1080p) with my craptop (laptop) coming in last at 1366x768.
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
Pixel C tablet... for a single screen.
Almost more than my 3x Eyefinity setup. I must say that the Pixel Screen is the better one for picture quality. I want AMOLED for my computer as well.
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
My ancient LG Flatron W2452T (1920x1200 AMVA ; replaced the TN panel in it several years ago).
Almost everything else is 1080p (two Samsung Syncmaster 2333T, HTC One M7, Philips 32PFL4508K TV, ...)
Links are just for tech specs

Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
Ah, the distinction between resolution as number of pixels and as the number of pixels per unit length.
In work, we supply images, and the number of designers who don't know the difference between 300 dpi [sic] and 1920 x 1200 pixels is... slightly distressing.
So, by the wrong metrics, my phone has a higher resolution than my TV, and at the same time my TV has a higher resolution than my phone.
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
Galaxy Note 4 - 1440 x 2560
My monitors are Full HD and HD. Boo.
-
Re: QOTW: Which of your devices has the highest resolution display?
My main monitor is a 25" 2560x1080 LG ultrawide. It was a big upgrade over my 24" 1080p TN panel. My iphone 5 doesn't even come close to the pixel count, but trounces it for dpi at 326 vs 111.
