Is there any theory to the arrangement of the lenses? Just looks totally random to me.
For that kind of money I'd be looking at decent DSLRs, I don't think form factor is much of a concern at this level.
I'll give it a look when I'm not in work and YT isn't blocked. Still I'd have thought if you were going to have an array of lenses, they'd have a more logical pattern and the same spec.
Very interested in seeing some raw output from this thing. That I'll never own.
Frankly, looking at their gallery, I'm not sure what DSLR they're comparing them too, but the performance doesn't look that great.
Lots of noise or processing artefacts. And not really much to demonstrate the dynamic range.
The "pattern" of how the lenses are arranged is simply the only way they could fit them all inside the unit. It all becomes a lot clearer when you look behind the front cover:
