£67! I think Battlefield 2 cost me £19.99. If I pick up yet another reskin of the same mechanic V, then I'll wait until it's a reasonable price.

    Processor (AMD): AMD FX-8350
    Processor (Intel): Core i5 6600K

Why not the 3770K there? is the same with the AMD.

I ran the demo on my Ryzen 5 2400G btw.. though obviously with eye candy turned off. Didn't stop me from getting a few kills etc.

Re: Battlefield V system requirements revealed (plus RTX specs)

Been looking forward to the Battlefield 5 release since the beta, I was really impressed with it, although a GTX 980 at 3440x1440p is a bit of a struggle. Is it time system requirements in games talked more about resolution and target framerate?

4K is 4X times the number of pixels on screen than 1080p.

I am not surprised the GTX980 might hit some issues, especially since at 4K,the game is using between 5.5GB~6.5GB of VRAM:

I don't understand. How did you manage to get ANY kills without ray tracing? Without being able to see your reflection properly in mirrors and wet floors it's impossible to create the accurate simulation of proprioception required to allow millisecond E-sports level targeting.

I know, Nvidia (may not have) told me this.

I certainly didn't make it up after too many opiates on my chips.

I think I was getting around 70fps average but some dips below 50. Obviously lowering the resolution scale to about 95% helped keep about 80 stable but it looks a lot worse. Will probably end up getting a new graphics card towards the end of November.

OK - I play Planetside 2. So its a MMO FPS which has upto 300 people at any one point. Even with a newish system with a GTX1080 at qHD I see minimums between 35FPS~40FPS. Before with my older CPU it ws below 30FPS with the same graphics card.

If the FPS dips happen during a taxing battle it can be a CPU limitation. Either way,it does seem a better optimised game than Planetside 2!!

Yea planetside 2 always struggles in those big battles, the frostbite engine is very well optimised in comparison. I have an i7 4770k so I feel an upgrade on the GPU will be much more beneficial given I bought the GTX980 to play at 1080p originally.

It does kind of make me wonder if the GTX980 had 8GB of VRAM,whether that might have helped. The Core i7 4770K should be good to go,especially if you have overclocked it a bit.

I'm hoping I'll be OK with a 3770k :/ Trying to avoid upgrading CPU for a little bit longer
