The pad is smaller than i thought it would be, but i am very impressed with the responsiveness of the screen.

Also the switch (pun intended) to TV is very impressive.

Still not sure about the Switch as mario kart looks like mario kart WiiU so was hoping for more i dont know.

Maybe at christmas when it comes bundled with a couple of games for less the £299 it might do well.

Well, it is Mario Kart 8. Played the life out of it on the Wii U already, not sure the extra courses in the Deluxe version would be enough to sway me.

Re: First footage of Nintendo Switch touch screen in action (video)

I like the idea of the device, but the specs and list of game releases disappoints. It's the same story as the past few Nintendo consoles for me unfortunately , which is a shame because I really do have a lot of fond childhood memories and respect for Nintendo, a Mario game similar to Mario 64 but in 4k with all the latest gen bells and whistles would make me buy a new Nintendo console in an instant.

[Edit] also, a new gen 4k pilotwings would have me frothing at the mouth!

I think that this will appeal more to me in the coming months/short years when you can pick them up at a more palatable price with games. Sure, the Switch delivers quite a lot in terms of innovation, but the early adopter premium is a bit much for me.

Re: First footage of Nintendo Switch touch screen in action (video)

Nice to see a responsive screen, but it's still massively overpriced for what it is. At £280 for just the main console, this is Nintendo at their greediest, worse than when they priced the N64 at £250.

I'm just hoping that sense prevails and they cut the price by £100, just like with the N64, which also had largely overpriced games and peripherals. If not, once the pre-order season passes, I can see sales dropping off largely for quite a while.

Don't get me wrong: I do not wish this to fail, but it's so bleeping annoying to see Nintendo repeating the same mistakes again and again whilst greedily exploiting its customers in a way that makes even Sony and Microsoft blush.

I see wondered why it looks so familiar, i guess the deluxe version has the tracks you can buy for WiiU on it.

Just seems more of the same with nintendo, i would have been happy with a machine as powerful as the PS4 the tablet device is soo 2012
