Never put all your eggs in one basket! Also anyone could have told them Rockband 4 was going to Flop!
I feel sorry for the hard workers at the company who will lose their job due to this!

Problem is they where trying to reach a very little customer base mostly due to the designs... likewise Razer is also for the more light/moderate gamer due to low reliability or quickly starts to 'double click on single click'.

    Their designs were unique...
They could also approach wider range of customers with other designs & prices.
    They will be missed.

Their designs may have been "unique", but their QA was absent.

what a shame razer will be next simply because its all far to expensive for the quality of there products, and who would pay that much when better is cheaper ?

Quality Assurance. In other words, testing it to make sure everything works the way it is expected to.

A pity, buying these sort of peripherals is such hit and miss. And then more miss.

Re: Mad Catz files for bankruptcy, closes down

All i can say is that their rat mouse has lasted my familey years, we have 6 of them and all still working and very good. But the few other items we have bought over the years has been rubbish, just all fallen apart.

Re: Mad Catz files for bankruptcy, closes down

Sad news for the staff, but not so sad for consumers who were tricked into buying their stuff. Their products were historiccally at least pretty rubbish - cheap and nasty stuff that tricked parents into buying for their kids..they were always 3rd rate. If you think razor was bad (and I don't tbh, never had any issues with Their kit) mad Katz was another level lower.

Re: Mad Catz files for bankruptcy, closes down

Love my Rat mouse, not had any issues with it and its so comfortable. Pretty well made and sturdy with a solid metal frame. Have to admit that some of the other products they weren't great.

For those saying Razer is next, don't forget they just bought THX and make laptops so they have a much more spread portfolio of products on offer.

I would argue that is Quality Control (i.e. end of line testing). Quality Assurance is controlling your manufacturing process to ensure that your final product will be within expected specifications.

I think Razer have diversified more than Mad Catz did, which should help them avoid a similar fate, but there are no guarantees!

Re: Mad Catz files for bankruptcy, closes down

MadCatz/Saitek products were fantastically unique and very funky and cool and hip... but they did not last and that's where things fell down. It's believed MC reduced the build quality, as per comparisons between the original Saitek X52-Pro and the more recent MC/S version.
