im stumped on why a 6 core still cant beat a quad core. and the 8 cores are still having issues beating the i7 quads. goes to show, intel had their hand in a lot of these programs and benchmarks.

Intel has higher IPC performance. But you can't look at it like that anymore. You have to view the overall performance per quid/dollar spent. If you have a program that benefits from more cores, and you can get a 16 thread CPU for the price of an 8 thread CPU, you're gonna go for the higher performing one overall.Quote:

The benchmarks should go up against what the competitor in price is, not the spec sheet. I'm just wondering on the price of the 4c/8t chips, from the way things are going they're gonna look like a beautiful alternative to settling for an i3
