I'll keep an open mind, but I can't help thinking it'll be more Streetfighter than Iron Man...

Games never translate well to films. And I haven't found many films that translate to games either (Jedi Knight II was about the only SW games I've thought was exceptional).

Wing Commander was probably the best effort in moving a game to a film - and that was hardly a blockbuster.

Still, who wants to go watch a film where the surround sound is just going to be full of teenagers making comments about 'your mom'.

...but clearly missed the thoroughly dull Assassin's Creed?

I'd agree with Dashers that Wing Commander was probably the best effort to hit the big screen. I haven't seen Far Cry yet, but I'm not optimistic.

The CoD games have been flogging a dead horse for years - I don't buy them until they hit the bargain bins now, and I still can't summon the willpower to complete the campaigns (I don't care about MP). I seriously doubt I'd be willing to sit through a film based on them, but I don't think I'm in the demographic they're aiming for.

Assassins creed, Max Payne, Hitman 47; all games that SHOULD have translated into the film world superbly.

They were all terrible.

Call of Duty doesn't even come close to a story compelling enough to make the list of games that SHOULD translate.

I hope they bring Ben Affleck in so any hope of achieving glory stripped away from it as quickly as possible.
