So it's marginally 'better' than a PS4 pro, with Windows 10 watering down the exclusives, and arriving a year later than the competition. Sony will undoubtedly slash their prices as soon as pricing for Scorpio is announced as well. I think it's going to be a tough fight for MS on this one.

As far as I am concerned, the moment they announced XBox play anywhere, Scorpio shipments became reduced.

Still tempted as a decent way to get a 4K Bluray player into your home.

It's not marginally better, Richard at DF explicit says it's significantly more powerful than PS4 Pro. He mentioned it even out performed their own Forza PC benchmarks at 4K using top of the line Nvidia GPU's.

The hardware is very good with a better approach to older games which get free enhancements x16 AF, super sampling, all get this no restrictions.

The point of Xbox Anywhere is to grow a digital app store, it's a very smart move and not as you say watering down exclusives.

Scorpio is not going to de-throne the PS4 but it will put MS back in the game (excuse the pun).

Now all they need to do is drop the dumb Xbox One brand name, unfortunately this is one thing I fear they will not do.

The GPU has long been rumoured to be Vega based.

    So, it's a 480? ~10% more cores, ~10% less speed

Without HBM, what is there to call it vega based? the only difference would be the iterative improvements to GCN, which aren't really exclusive to any architecture

Something would be very odd if it wasn't significantly outperforming the PS4P, the extra cores and speed give it 40% more GPU grunt. However, there's no way it's beating a top end nvidia GPU - a partner 1080ti will have twice the compute performance, even with the differences in architecture there's no overcoming that.

The GPU in the PS4 pro has features not found in Polaris.

Gotta say, I'm super excited for this. The better the consoles are, the less effort they need to put into making PC games to their full potential

Can optimisations really give you 60fps at 4K on a GPU equivalent to a 480?! It just doesn't seem right.

If your comparing a console to a Windows PC running a game under DX11 then it can't add up, but that's not the case because Xbox has a lot of advantages over the PC.

It isn't a RX480 though - the PS4 PRO used Vega shaders for example. The part in the XBox Scorpio has more shaders and significantly more memory bandwidth too.

I hate to sound pessimistic but PS4 has some very good exclusives vs the Xbox one? what are we going to get more HALO, GOW and Forza but in 4K.. unless Microsoft have a load of new gaming i.p. up there sleeve its just more of the same but with a new lick of paint and more polish.

Saying that its great if you already have a xbox one and want your old games collection 4ked, and you dont have a PC, but as i said exclusives PS4 have more and more original games i.p's unless MS can surprise when they reveal the Scorpio.
