From all reports I've seen the pen isn't included anymore so you can add on another £70 by the looks of it.... seriously how can you call it a surface pro if it doesn't have the one thing that makes it a pro device in the box....
Does anyone know what the actual processor model(s) on offer are? Thanks to Intel renaming their Core M's into i5's and i7's, it's impossible to tell whether they are all 4.5w CPUs or if the i5 is a 15w CPU (presumably the i7 is, or it wouldn't need a fan)
Imagine an article writer actually providing something over and above what they're paid to push!
Fanless:
$799: m3-7Y30, 128GB SSD, 4GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 615
$999: i5-7300U, 128GB SSD, 4GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 620
$1299: i5-7300U, 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 620
With fan:
$1599: i7-7660U, 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640
$2199: i7-7660U, 512GB SSD, 16GB RAM, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640
$2699: i7-7660U, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640
Actually read why MS didn't include USB C. It makes sense. It's a confusing port and, frankly, I won't miss it at all.

USB-C is great for power delivery. I can carry a single small charger that can top up my phone and run my laptop, which is really convenient

It's only a 15w CPU, as long as you aren't running prime95 a 15w charger will easily add to the battery and would be noticeably smaller while still charging a phone at a good rate. I don't use my laptop much without plugging it in, so all I want in a portable charger is the ability to keep the battery topped up while it's in use
Great, thanks.
Good point, didn't know that.
If you look at the Surface Laptop article it suggests they originally designed that device with USB-C but later removed it in the final version because "reasons" *cough*.
I don't know what those reasons are but they claim it's because power consumption or some crap, I wouldn't be surprised if they deliberately left out USB-C on the SP-5-but-not-5 too.
Actually you can get USB chargers half the size that deliver enough to power the tablet and 3+ additional USB ports - I have a 6-port one and it's super useful for travelling with. One charger for my 2 phones + anyone I'm travelling with, mouse, portable battery pack, USB lights, and more. If it weren't for the fact my laptop wants a 240W charger, I'd definitely be choosing one with USB-C to charge with the one charger too.
In fact, not charging over USB-C (which actually I was hoping my laptop would do, but alas, Dell XPS' do but Alienwares do not) is a complete deal breaker which is why I never bought the previous Surface Pro and won't be buying this one.
Then you would want the C adapter they are releasing?

Is there any gains in upgrading from a Surface Pro 4 to this new one?
Deo Adjuvante non Timendum
Longer battery life and slightly faster vicar. So probably no real need.
