If they're not ready to release and they want people to hold off from AMD's releases then of course this is how they do it.

If they wanted to do that, an official statement would have been more widely read and acted on.
Image leaks happen all the time, for all you know it could be a cooler like someone else said.

Image "leaks" are a commons means of drumming-up interest in new, soon to be released products, the car industry does it all the time. Using a so called "leak" means all the news sites spread the images and speculation like wildfire. The image is too poor quality to infer much from.
