Lenovo IdeaPad 310
AMD A10-9600P APU - Quad-core - 2.4 GHz / 3.3 GHz (Turbo Core)
RAM: 8 GB
Storage: 256gb ssd + 1 TB HDD (removed dvd drive and put into caddy).
Use it for mobile photography (lightroom/photoshop etc) more than fast enough, really can't fault the APUs for this kind of work.
Old Dell E6420 with 8gig ram and an SSD. Does everything I need. Runs W10 Pro
Just upgraded my work machine from a ~5yr old i7 Dell Latitude E6530 to a new XPS 9560

Still looking for something light for personal use, kicking around the idea of an ideapad 720s, pc specialist lafite or a macbook air.
Refurbed Lenovo Felx14-2 from Scan with touchscreen and upgraded RAM and SSD.

A top of the range HP DV-9205TX with a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo from about 2007.
I have upgraded the twin HDD's to SSD's and RAM from 2GB to 4GB.
About 8 years ago I pulled it apart and redid the TIM on the CPU and GPU, this had a positive effect on fan speed (audibly slower when doing the same/similar things).
I also dual boot with both Vista Ultimate and Windows 8.1 - All functions work with Vista but it is still a bit of a pain at times (once every so often I have to do a factory reset to get it working at full speed), but with win 8.1 it gets along relatively quick, but not everything works (example - memory card reader does not work, just have to use an external USB reader). So when using the TV tuner and remotes (came standard with two), I have to use Vista, but I do office work with Win 8.1.
The funny thing is that it surprises people who see it still functioning 100%.
THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT FOR HP PRODUCTS -- EVER SINCE GETTING THIS, I WAS BESET WITH UPGRADE PROBLEMS AND HP's REFUSAL TO HELP. SO NOW I ADVISE EVERONE THAT ASKS, NOT TO BUY HP PRODUCTS.
This is just my opinion (also had problems with a printer and no help from HP - ended up returning it and got a Brother).
It is all because of HP's total lack of customer service and their throw away products. When I initially asked about Win 7 drivers (about 4 months after buying it new), I was told that HP had no plans on bringing out any updates for this laptop and my best option would be to buy another laptop off them (they started telling me new products I could upgrade to, but no discount was ever offered). The same sort of response came back when I asked about upgrading the RAM (they told me 2GB max) but I was lucky and found 2x 2GB modules that work.
Why put a 64bit OS as standard into a machine that is not designed for more than 2GB??????
The only reason it still works well is that I have looked after it.

Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 that I was given by a family member after they upgraded. I don't use it much, it's mainly there for backup in case my desktop goes down (as it did when the PSU blew recently!) but I popped in a small SSD and it runs great.
MacBook Pro for everyday stuff, and an old Novatech branded laptop running Win7 for a couple of legacy applications.

Both lovely but v expensive, very much all anyone who doesn't game really needs. Both use USB C / thunderbolt for charge and dock so one set of peripherals and interchangeable power supplies very handy.
Asus N55SF i7 2670QM, 6Gb RAM, Blu-Ray player, nVidia GeForce GT555m. It was dying a slow, slow death with the old spinny disk in, so I slapped a 500Gb SSD in and put Windows 10 on it, and it's got a new lease of life. It's used so little now that it's not worth upgrading or replacing. Mainly used for the wife's internet banking.
