Re: Apacer reveals assault rifle inspired PCIe NVMe SSD

Reminds me of the time some company tried to market a Battle Bowler... literally a plastic army helmet with built-in headphones, for that all-immersive authentic experience when playing Call-of-Honour/Medal-of-Duty games...

Why don't they put something properly cool on these things, like a lightsaber or a sonic screwdriver?

I bet it doesn't even have RGB!!

Maybe it' me but that doesn't look particularly good for heat dissipation.
And it does look like a stapler to me.

    +1 to both of these.

I'd ask what they were thinking, but they clearly weren't

It's an NVMe drive, the heat it creates could be dissipated even when it's on fire.

Agreed on the stapler bit though, especially from the angle you would normally be looking at it from

I can't help but see a stapler here, trying to picture it as a rifle but just not happening. Surely they could have done much better than this if they wanted a looka like

"inspired by an assault rifle… with details like sight aperture and ejection port".

Whom exactly is that <removed> supposed to impress?

Oh man, part of me loves the poundland toy look of this. Its awful, but isn't even functionally weird enough to be in LGR oddware.
