we expect higher turnover when R3 and R series with APU enters the market. I cant wait to see tons of sub $250 to $300 laptops with AMD Ryzen APUs.
There have been stories that started back in late 2014 that Samsung was in plans to buy AMD, I believe if Samsung would buy AMD the end result is good for consumers because Samsung fabricates silicon chips on its own which will entail lower prices.
I'm not sure about that, they are more focused on ARM and their own chips and if they did buy AMD I could see them just taking the best bits of IP from the CPU and GPU technologies and then exiting the x86 processor and PC Graphics markets.Quote:

Agreed. AIUI the x86 license wouldn't transfer to a purchaser, and Samsung have pretty much left the PC business. Them buying AMD has never made any sense, other than taking the graphics cores and patents and shutting the whole lot down if the company gets cheap enough to treat as disposable.Quote:
