Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

    LG G5 here.

Chosen mainly because it's one of the rare few devices left on the market with a removable battery. That feature has already saved my bacon a few times when i've forgotten to charge it, as i can just swap in a charged spare battery in a few seconds.
Also managed to pick up the camera grip addon for it really cheap. For the actual camera functions it's pretty meh, but it adds another battery which gives an extra half-day of charge, which is very handy.

Apart from that, it's a pretty standard phone, can't see me upgrading any time soon. I only upgraded in the first place because my old phone (Galaxy S3) was literally falling to pieces (had to superglue it together near the end) and it was too slow to run some newer games.

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

Samsung e2121b, bought at start of 2011 for £20, put £10 on it, got about £2 left now.

last turned it on in February.

main annoying thing about it is the * button at bottom left, locks the handset, and the # key at bottom right puts in in silent. I keep getting them mixed up. there was a few months I didn't answer any phone calls because I didn't hear it ring.

other annoying thing is I cant do the o2 priority free stuff on it, because its just a phone. could've got a free egg from thorntons last week. cant run the app on my tablet because it doesn't have a sim slot.
if only I could combine the 2 devices all this new fangled technology is too confusing to me.

Moto X Force. Generally like it. Moto apps are good and actually add something to the device.

Cons: Still on Android 6.0, battery life has taken a dive recently.

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

Got a Huawei P9 in December 2016 during Christmas specials. Used to be on a Nokia Lumia 1320 running Windows Phone 8 before that. Normally, it's on a $80/mth two year contract but it was being offered at $60/mth (but same plan inclusions as the $80 plan). Used my student discount to get that reduced to $52/mth. I'd heard that it was a good phone and since I needed to get a new phone anyway, it was a good value.
NOTE: I live in Australia, so those are Aussie dollars.

I like the P9 overall, especially the dual camera lenses. The phone itself is fast enough with no discernible lag in everyday tasks. Graphics-heavy games will occasionally stutter but that's kinda expected since the Mali GPUs in HiSilicon's Kirin chipsets aren't as good as the competition. Screen handles bright areas well and for me, 1080p is good enough for a ~5" screen. Lower resolution than the usual 1440p for flagship phones helps the 3000mAh battery last longer too. I get about 1.5 days usage on average.

Probably won't be upgrading unless I spot another deal for a newer phone. I used my Lumia 1320 for nearly 4 years so it's a good bet that this P9 will probably do the same since most of my money is spent on PC stuff instead XD

S6 Edge for me. Contracts about up, have no interest with 'keeping up with the trend'.

Going sim-free with Vodafone latest offer.

    £19 p/month - 16GB - Unlimited minutes - 12 Months of Now TV/Sky Sports or Spotify Premium

Bluboo Xtouch, got it for ~ £90 last September, after promising myself never to buy another one of those generic Chinese phones again. I want my Moto G 2nd gen back.

I would give the Bluboo Xtouch 2 out of 5 stars, because of crap battery life, getting rather hot on the back (CPU area?), the fingerprint reader being very very temperamental and for Bluboo providing no more software updates for their so called "flagship" phone.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Had it 5 months - best phone I've owned so far. It survived a drop down 2 concrete steps (it bounced down them!) without a scratch and best battery life, screen and camera of any phone I've owned. Just hope the battery life lasts throughout the contract as the battery isn't swappable...

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

After sticking with my Sony Xperia Z2 for nearly three years (no real compelling upgrades appeared in the meantime - everything Snapdragon 810 was a dud, and I just can't get myself to like Samsung phones no matter how much I tried), I finally ordered a OnePlus 3T two months ago. Outside of some minor software bugs (that are slowly but surely being fixed throught updates) I'm very, very happy with it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. Great value, great design, fantastic performance, good battery life, good camera, fits okay in one hand despite 5.5" screen. Oh, and the first-party wood back covers are amazing: crazy thin, yet durable, and they fit perfectly. And they're 100% wood, which I don't even quite understand how is possible.

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

    HTC One A9

Which i won in your lovely giveaway about a year and a half ago

Been using it at work and in private, and only on really busy weeks do i need to charge it twice. Dont feel any need for an upgrade anytime soon.
Only downside has been the HTC bloatware, which seems impossible to disable, and i dont feel like jailbreaking it.

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

    Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo.
Got it free when taking up a new contract. Pretty reasonable and the most capable device I've ever had... but I still miss the full physical QWERTY of my HTC Desire Z and the small size of my SGH Z500-V from days long gone.
As a modern smartphone, it's pretty cool, but I really need the top end Otterbox just so I can hold it without dropping the darn thing. Every other model of phone these days looks just the same, so I'll stay with this until a better option and the actual need for one present themselves.

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

Still using my iPhone 5S from a few years back, still haven't seen a need to change it yet. Paid for handset outright and not locked into a contract, so it's worked out cheaper than getting a new phone on contract and gives me flexibility to swap rolling monthly contract / providers if I choose to. Aside from stumping up for the initial cost, it's probably the best decision I could have made.

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

After a string of failing Moto Gs I splashed on a G3 (post g4 release so price was ~£220) and have been very happy with it. Wish I could've found the 32GB model as 16GB seems to choke pretty easily, but aside from that its a very nice phone. 1440p screen is a bit of a battery guzzler but I use lux to autoadjust my screen brightness and have seen an improvement in battery life from that as a side effect, and Marshmallow's snooze mode thing is pretty amazing for just not using anything on sleep.

Only thing I really feel I wish I had is a fingerprint sensor for easy unlocking, but I've been saying that for a year or so and its a luxury that honestly doesn't bother me that much, just a nicety.
