Maybe, but I do wonder at times!
Having said that if the Core i3 8300 is 4C/8T,that is going to make the Core i3 a very strong gaming CPU,unless Intel finds a way to gimp it in some way.
Sure there is no boost clockspeeds, but a 4GHZ 4C/8T CPU for around £130ish seems a pretty good deal,IF it happens.

Yep and why I always thought the Core i7 was quite expensive for such a tiny chip.
Also,I do wonder how Raven Ridge turns out - as a mate pointed out with only one CCX,it won't have any potential issues, and it should sport updated Zen cores too.

"this chipset will provide 24 PCIe 3.0 lanes. This is in addition to the 16 lanes for PCIe graphics cards."
About bloody time.
Geez, we have been languishing with so few PCIe lanes for so long.
Always hated how if you wanted to use M.2 PCIe SSD's or U2 drives, it reduced the number of SATA ports.
And it was no better when it came to using the PCIe slots.
At last, Intel has decided to modernise their processors, but it was probably more due to AMD. If not for the increased number of lanes the new AMD processors offer, Intel may still only be offering a limited number of lanes.
The real benefits of competition.
AMD keep up the good work.
Re: Intel Coffee Lake platform presentation slides leaked
I'm very likely to grab an Intel 6 core/12 threads chip late next year unless things change alot, and I have AMD to thank for that, since without their challenge, Intel would have likely kept producing chips with only minor changes for all eternity.

No we haven't - this is exactly the same as for the existing Intel chips.

Well look at the name of the chipset for Coffee Lake.
It works in the Z270 ones,so it makes me wonder why apparently we need a Z370 to run one?? ;)

Oh Jeez i see it now, ha ha ha!
Maybe Intel change the pin arrangement just so that Mobo manufacturers get a sales boost every time they bring out a new chip xD
Re: Intel Coffee Lake platform presentation slides leaked
Sure, one last consumer gouge while they still have the brand momentum. Wow, 4 more PCIe lanes to congest the DMI link, so awesome, much value.

Nope. It still has the graphics PCI-E lanes direct to the CPU.

Also nope. Exactly the same number as the current Z270 on the DMI link.
