Not. It's ugly and as is the norm for Mac products, way overpriced.

Prolly 'cause Apple is yet again just playing catch up, not actually innovating anything. I can't actually remember the last thing that Apple actually, 100% legitimately, innovated.
My original Galaxy Nexus had an OLED screen... 6 years ago.
Samsung had a screen that was far more 'bezel-less' on the S6 Edge 3+ years ago. And the iPhone isn't even bezel-less... look at that huge bezel around the thing!
Facial ID was a reality on my original Galaxy Nexus, and before.
Wireless charging has been around for... let's just say, longer than Apple's memory.
Water resistance? Only been around for the past 3-5 years as well. My S7 has a better IP rating than the iPhone!
Impressed? Hell, yeah! I'm impressed Apfel hasn't learned any new tricks.
Presenting existing tech as yet another revolution? Check!
Playing the marketing chord as always? Check!

OTOH, if you want to have the chance to present yourself as an animated turd, youshould definitely get one.
Couldn't care less... Not impressed at all...
ITS ONLY A PHONE!!!! ... Get a life.
For £1000 I'm not impressed haha. I have an iPhone too, but this is the first one I've ever owned and while it's been good, it's also had it's problems, such as poor battery. The thing is though, although the iPhone X is only a phone, people will happily pay the extra money as it's also a status symbol. I paid a little more for my phone this time, but next time I get a new phone it will definitely be the best for my money haha.
Im so uninpressed that the first person I see using one in public is going to be pointed at and laughed at.
A grand for a phone, you can build a decent pc for that and buy a phone.
I'm what you might call a floating voter with my phones so iApple this, Samsung that, all meh! to me, even had Windows mobile just to prove that I REALLY DON'T give a crap.
For a phone to Justify it's £1000 price (and that's just the kick off price for bare base model remember) it has to have a killer specialised talent, something it does leaps better than any other phone. Samsung Note 8 has a thing, does iApple? LG V30 has a thing, does iApple?
Now I'm not saying Sammy and LG are doing what they do perfectly, no way, but they at least have their 'thing' that they wish to focus on with their flagship phones. Apple it seems to me just have a pretty looking RUN OF THE MILL flagship in the Apple X.
A £1k+ smart phone can be legit, but Apple fall way short with the Apple X and should a least have the good decency to where a mask when they try to rob you.
So you don't believe consumer choice is a valid proposition.? (Or do you just like drawing attention to yourself in public?)
Except it isn't 'robbery' which implies irresistible coercion. A phone is a discretionary purchase, with a variety of versions from Apple and other manufacturers. The iPhone 8 and 7 are available and haven't been made obsolete by the X.

How much....for a phone, on your bike!
too expensive vs what you actually get.
Ooh, my current phone has some of those things!
AMOLED... Facial Recognition... Wireless charging...
3 out of 5 isnt bad! I dont really need the other two.
It also has things the Apple doesnt and some that are marginally better
micro SD card slot, USB-C charging, NFC that works for things other than payments, slightly higher screen res (518 vs 458 ppi), almost the same physical screen size (0.1 inch difference), 20MP camera (vs 12) and an 8 core CPU (vs 6).
I didnt cost me $1000. And I wouldnt replace it because it does everything I need it to do.
This "marvel" of phone technology? the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL.
