Re: QOTW: Are you addicted to your smartphone?

I still remember somebody knocking my door to sign a petition to stop a mobile phone mast being erected near my house.
I've always hated mobiles but I carry one purely for taking photo's.

I could do without it no bother, as long as i had a phone that could do calls/texts.

Re: QOTW: Are you addicted to your smartphone?

my phones not very smart, in any sense.
its just a basic phone phone, with a 800x600 camera and 8mb memory.

the other not smart thing is, if I charge it (battery lasts 25 days) it vibrates to say 'unplug me now'. if its on a hard surface the vibrations cause the sim card to dislodge, so it loses connection.
    its not smart

as for being addicted to it. the past few months I only knew where it was, because it beeps when the batteries nearly flat, allowing me to find it.

Re: QOTW: Are you addicted to your smartphone?

I'm not as bad as many my age, I try to avoid scrolling on Facebook or Twitter for hours, but if I'm waiting around I'll get it out. I try to make an effort to just look around instead, but it does get really boring.

Re: QOTW: Are you addicted to your smartphone?

I was just on 5 days holiday after the third call from work on the second day and the incessant watsapp noise I turned my phone off. It was wonderful. 3 days with no intrusion. I gave up on fb and twitter years ago. I mean really how superficial can you get?

Re: QOTW: Are you addicted to your smartphone?

Could switch to a numb phone easy enough, being self employed I couldn't completely get rid of a phone.

It does make my life easier being able to have my emails with me and being able to keep up on facebook with my business is good, in many respects without it I would end up check on my pc more often.

With that I do disconnect quite often and in social situations my phones isn't to be seen.

Re: QOTW: Are you addicted to your smartphone?

Yes I am addicted, but I could give it up for a dumb phone.

I have an addictive personality and don't do well with temptation. As I have a phone in quiet moments I do use it to mess around. I'm thinking of switching to a dumb phone to stop me, the only app I really need it to have is email and a lot of them do that.
