Re: Exclusive: Raja Koduri, Radeon Technologies Boss, leaves AMD
Wouldn't surprise me if this was influenced by the blue team.

Re: Exclusive: Raja Koduri, Radeon Technologies Boss, leaves AMD

There's always a rumor mill that when someone leaves either Intel or AMD they always are rumored to have a better deal with the other. Except for a "some of our extremely shady sources close to" article here and there, there's no evidence that he is looking to be pilfered yet.

Re: Exclusive: Raja Koduri, Radeon Technologies Boss, leaves AMD
I'm looking forward to seeing what he does at Intel.

Re: Exclusive: Raja Koduri, Radeon Technologies Boss, leaves AMD
For some reason this makes me think of the catch phrase from the old C64 game Impossible Mission, "Stay a while. Stay FOREVER!". Well, actually the inverse of that.
I bet we all saw it coming. Best of luck to you, Raja. Just stay away from Apple! :)

Re: Exclusive: Raja Koduri, Radeon Technologies Boss, leaves AMD
Raja Koduri was at Apple(and ATI before that),so was Mark Papermaster.
So I wonder what company he is going to next?? Intel?? Apple?? Tesla??

Why?? You do realise he was responsible for developing the Apple GPUs on their SOCs back then, which is part of the reason why Apple pushed ahead of other companies in the first place? People forget it was the Apple IGPs which helped drive the experience on their iPhones and iPads - what do you think was accelerating the UI and was decoding all the video people were playing?? For example iOS used UI GPU acceleration before Android did.
Raja Koduri was at ATI FOR YEARS. He was there during the time of the HD4000 and HD5000 series, and IIRC also the 9700 PRO.
Plus, the whole point of Apple going with AMD is down to OpenCL performance which AMD has embraced and is an Apple standard, and there were rumours of Apple and Nvidia falling out too. Nvidia can never fully embrace OpenCL since it is a competitor to CUDA. If you even looked at quite a few parts, like Tonga and Polaris 11,they were actually most likely developed for Apple.

What point though?? It seems rather vague. Maybe you can explain it to me! ;)
I see quite a lot of posters, elsewhere being quite negative about him when its probably the lack of R and D spend which is the issue in reality,so not sure if yours is insinuated to be positive or negative? ;)

Stating the painfully obvious I'm not a great fan of Apple, so the last thing I want is for him to help with their renewed graphics efforts. Especially since they threw Imagination Tech under the bus.

Ahh,its hard to say especially looking elsewhere where it seems to be a fair number of people slating him(especially over Vega which seems to be more a case of a SK Hynix screwing up HBM2 schedules). I personally think Tesla might be one to look out for:

More than 50 people are working on the initiative under Keller, the source said. Tesla has brought on several AMD veterans after hiring Keller, including director Ganesh Venkataramanan, principal hardware engineer Bill McGee and system circuit design lead Dan Bailey.
Edit!!
Apparently,Intel it seems:
