    But the 1060 is way ahead on power consumption. You'll get back that 20 quid and more on your electric bill and your system will be quieter. And the extra 2GB of texture memory will really help some software.

    I'm hoping that the new 7nm process will really get AMD into the game. NVidia could use more competition.

    If you're cryptomining, then the AMD card beats nvidia in efficiency. For anyone else power cost just isn't a concern (run 24/7 under full load, breakeven is 5 months. At idle there's 0 difference). Noise is a fair point, but the typical 1 db difference is pushing the limit of audibility.

    What software gets optimised for 6GB VRAM?
