Reward cards are a waste of time imho, they could save infrastructure & maintenance costs and just reduce their prices for all... a tip from ASDA.
Or just save a bunch and order online from Amazon, often a lot cheaper and know your paying less tax too!
They expire your points quite quickly too
Loyalty points are actually there for market research - one of the few companies to actually be honest about it are Waitrose.
If you're buying from game (especially pc stuff,) you're already getting mugged. Points or no points.
Surely Game should be enticing people to shop there?
Game are still around?
OH MY GOD THAT'S A REDUCTION OF 50%!
Tell me again how this is newsworthy please
Brilliant isn't it? A company that nearly went under is taking away a % of club points during a time where people are feeling the pinch of the current economy, they should be increasing the points as each point is worth less in real terms than they were to start with, but nope, they just can't help but drive custom away can they, not that I ever shopped there in the first place but still, such genius /s
Anyone who'd notice this kind of change probably doesn't shop at game
What a load of crap. They're doing it to save themselves money, pure and simple. Apparently even the meagre return being earned before was cutting into their bottom line too much.
Nectar did the same thing and gave the same spiel about "points offers". That might work for some people if you often take up very specific offers but in the grand scheme of things is means that a huge swathe of the customer base is getting their return cut in half.
At least with Nectar they gave people some warning. It always stinks when a company makes what is effectively quite a large change to a scheme and tells you on the day it happens. It's not transparent, does not promote any trust and generally hacks people off.
Stopped buying from GAME when their web prices got as expensive as their brick and mortar ones. Pants.
I keep walking past Game stores, I think I gave up on them when I realised they didn't even stock keyboards and mice for emergencies.....and their prices have always been high.
Usually I'd agree, but earlier this month they were doing 25% off pre-owned games, so I got some reasonable deals on Switch titles. Of course Switch games are horrendously overpriced in the first place, but compared to other sources Game were a good deal for once!
All about boosting bottom $ for the P&L figures.
