Same here. Bit surprised it's still X86 and also checking from a 2.xx release doesn't upgrade to 3

Yes, I did an upgrade and was slightly confuzzled to see it was still v2.x - NOW downloading V3 :)
Re: VLC 3.0 Vetinari supports HDR colour and Chromecast
And after 17 years, it STILL doesn't support click to pause...
Re: VLC 3.0 Vetinari supports HDR colour and Chromecast
Windows media player still seems to play everything I want with the help of the k-lite codec pack, I never saw the point in cluttering up my system with another video player.

You can download 64-bit versions too.
Assuming you mean Windows, although there doesn't seem to be an obvious download link for x64, clicking to download and then (after cancelling the download it attempts to start) changing both "win32" mentions in the URL to "win64" gets you it.
So basically: https://get.videolan.org/vlc/3.0.0/w....0.0-win64.exe

It is more than just a player though.
Re: VLC 3.0 Vetinari supports HDR colour and Chromecast
I'm gonna try Vlc v3 out, but may stick to my fave player that is MPV from https://mpv.io/

Yeah I've now got 2 versions as it doesn't check for the x86 version...lol
Re: VLC 3.0 Vetinari supports HDR colour and Chromecast
I have been sampling media players and none seem to beat Windows Media Player in audio quality ....
Re: VLC 3.0 Vetinari supports HDR colour and Chromecast
I might give it a try. I have a large music collection on a NAS that Windows Media Player never liked so I still use Winamp.

mhmm
Media Player Classic with VLC as a backup, Windows Media Player for precisely nothing at all.

I thought I was the only one. My VLC 2.2.6 keeps insisting it's the latest version ...when clearly it isn't.

And yet:
K-Lite Codec Pack Full - Version 13.8.0 Full ~ 45.6 MB
VLC 3.0.0 for Windows - 28 MB
I don't want to clutter my system, let me download a codec pack from uncertain sources that is bigger than a video player.

Good to see they're continuing the policy of naming releases after Discworld characters...
